Yes the BBR throttle tube will crack if you wreck really hard and the right bar end takes a big hit. But just do what I did and buy some sportbike bar ends. Cut out the end of the throttle tube and grips, install and enjoy.

It's not that complicated. Just cut out the end of the throttle tube. I used a utility knife to rough cut the whole, then a soldering iron (not mine) to finish it off nice and clean.

that's the way to go, they cost ten bucks and they'll save you at least ten pairs of grips ($10/pair).
here's mine:

Re: bbr bar kit help

personally i'd say no, don't get the bbr kit. if you're gonna pay all that money to get a complete kit i'd recommend one of the fast50s kits, yeah they are a little more $, but there have a lot more options as far as parts included, bar sizes, etc etc. and i think the quality of the fast50s stuff is a lot nicer than the bbr set. for even more dough, sano mx has a few different clamp options w/ their bar kit, but i'd still recommend the fast50s ****. but i think it's a huge plus to have the option of moving the bars foward 1/2 or not (on the clamp).

is that a fast50 billet throttle with the brake perch? if so i have the same thing and i'd like to put bar ends on it. as far as i can remember before i put the grips on that the throttle has a small hole at the end of it. did you have to cut the end off to have a bigger hole for the bar end? please let me know how before i get carried away with a dremel...

thanks,
fred

yeah fred that's whatcha gotta do... i used a die grinder and took off about 3mm off the end of the tube. there's other ways just be careful not to f*ck it up and it's sharp too. nothin to be scared of though it's easy to do. good luck.
