glue in the grips

I tried puttin on my grips w/ a little bit of soapy water like I used to w/ my bmx bike but its been almost a whole day and they still slide around. So should I use glue to get them to stick on and if so what kind of glue do you recommend. Will just the regular kinda glue work?

Re: glue in the grips

no water, that's like a lubricant. dry all that off of both pieces and use hairspray, that's prob the best household item to use... once it dries up it'll be tough to move, but when you first put it on you'll have some time to position them the way you want... then let it sit so the stuff dries up and sticks. i used spray gasket maker and that's worked excellent, you couldn't twist mine if you tried. you can get that at an auto parts store i bet.

Re: glue in the grips

i know yall are gonna call me stupid
but i use wd 40 for my grips and it werx excelent
the wd 40 actually melts the grips to the bars makes them
very easy to get on and off
been doing it for years and i do use safety wire too
lightly spray in the grip slide on tie and ride

if you do a light sparay and its warm out side about five minutes
you can use a hair dryer if you want it to go faster

Re: glue in the grips

Been rockin' those since I broke my BBR throttle tube this summer. Any sportbike shop will have them.
