Im shipping out for basic training for the Air Force march 22 and i tore my 50 down and greased everything and cleaned everything. I changed the oil and have the chain lubed and in a bag. Im thinking i should drain the gas too? I wont be back for about 6 or 7 months. It will be in a garage...on a shelf on the wall(dads idea,lol) Anything else i should do?

u might wanna just drin out all the oil. Also when u drain the gas make sure that there isn't any left in the lines or carb.

i would leave it with all the gas and oil in it.
kinda stupid to take that out when you just have to put it back in?

 

old stale gas can create a varnish if it is left alone....its hell to clean. i think ill drain everything except the oil. im getting a 88kit with a head when im home on leave so.... :YEAH

Run some Stabil through the gas keep the gas tank filled all the wa during storage...turn the gas off and drain the float bowl with the screw on the side of the carb.
