Nothing happens to powdercoat...its virtually indestructable.....

The only thing about powdercoat though is that you need to sand the frame back down to bare metal so it will stick the best.

Powder coating will be resistant to UV rays (the sun) and many chemicals. It is nearlly bullet proof, the powder is electrically bonded and baked to the metal surface. In the event of mass carnage to your fiddy, the powder will continue to adhear to bent and tweaked metal as long as it isn't a sharp break clean through.

Re: another powdercoat ?

so will a good base coat clear coat if done properly
krylon turned brown cause he put to many coats of clear on it
also another mistake was blasting the frame
if your just gonna paint it dont blast the frame
use a white scotch brite with sand fix and scrub it
any scratches need to be sanded and primed
but i would never take off the honda finish they have multi million dollar facilities to keep it perfectly clean and no moister on the frame
raw steel will rust almost instantly from the moister in the air you put your finger on it come back an hour later and youll see a rusty fingerprint
but if your gonna powder coat then you have to blast
this frame was frenched from the 60's so i had to remove all the
bondo check and re weld up bad welds then re bondo and paint
