I know it's a few months away, but I feel this thread is neccessary so we can organize a monumental 50 ride that no one involved will forget. The topics that need to be addressed are dates, accomadations, and plans for the big ride.

My suggestion are as follows. Any out of towners coming for the show and/or the ride should plan on getting a hotel in Evanston, IL.

Evanston Hotels

Evanston is the first suburb north of the city, and is home to several bars and resturaunts within walking distance. They also have an El stop, which is the cities transit service CTA MAP that you can utilize to go wherever your little heart desires in this big city. The police are questionable, but you won't be there except for sleeping and drinking.

The competition is in Union Grove, WI which is 59 miles from Evanston/Skokie and is a straight shot up I-94, about an hour. I would avoid staying in the city itself because of the parking situation, if you have a trailer parking will be next to impossible. I would also avoid staying in WI, pretty much cuz it's WI and there's nothing to do.

The Competition is July 17 & 18, which is a Sat & Sun. I say we roll HARD Friday and Saturday night, bars, skateparks, streets, and paths included. I'd estimate atleast 50 miles each night. just to give you and idea of how awesome this ride will be. if your only making one stunt affiliated trip this year, and you own a fiddy. THIS IS IT. you won't be disappointed.

anybody that wants to stay a few extra days, my boys in Kenosha have a bad *** fiddy track, and the local m/x track has a seperate fiddy track as well.

you could send you fiddy there then send it back.....it wouldnt cost too much...about the same as the gas money you would spend driving....come ride

dude, the city has so many parks, museums, theatres, and other attractions it's extensive. the train I mentioned actually does a tour of the popular sites. check out the web link to the CTA. there's tons to be done.


and as for the riding, you really have to see it to believe it.

I know a few here from GR are planning to make the trip....we'll get a final count once the weather warms up.... if this is a go deal i'll post up for time off and get someone else to come in and run my shop for a few days. when all the details are settled let me know.

 

Jay, Rodge, Buzz, ...I am pretty sure that I am in, I have already asked my wifey, if she would like to spend a few days in CHI town, I will also have my
10 year old daughter there, as well as Preacher and his family... Jay we should all stay in the same hotel, that will give all of the wifes other females too hang out(shop) with... let me know and we will hammer out the details
