where to get longer axel?

I've been lurking around here for a while but this is my first post.
Anyway I bought a 2002 50 last week, and I wanted to put some "stunt pegs" on the back for stand ups. So last night I bought some at Wally world for 8 bucks, I had to drill the hole out to 1/2" and make a notch where the chain adjuster is Well the axel is only long enough for one, and then just barely. I wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions as to where I can find a strong cheap axel that is about an 1.5" longer than stock. And don't say E-bay cause they want 60 bucks for what looks like 15-20 bucks worth of stuff.
Thanks in advance.

I'll look and see. I think the bolt we need is: metric 12mm X 240-250mm, in an 8.8 grade. I've got a buddy who can get them for us, I'll see how much it'll cost.

Re: where to get longer axel?
o.k guys heres the deal.I have pegs on my fiddy front and back. I took the easy way out and just bought a set of the internet. it was the easiest, with no hassles. But If you want to do them yourself heres how. there are two ways that I know of.
1. go find a set of pegs with the thiniest piece of metal where the threads are located (NO THEY WILL NOT BEND). then drill out the thread hole so it's just big enough to fit the stock axle threw. Now put a notch/line at the bottom corner of the peg.(this is gonna be your new chain adjuster guide). Then put the back tire on without the chain adjusters. Use the notch in the peg to adjust the tension. Between taking out the adjusters and finding the right pegs. This WILL work.
2. Go get a metal rod the came thickness as the original axle. The go to a machine shop and have them cut it to the exact length your looking for. then have them thread each end. then just go get some washers and nuts to fit them. Those rods usually come in like 6 ft. lengths I would have the guy make as many as he can out of it, so that way you will have extra.
Both ways you still need to just check them every so often to make sure there tight. But I haven't heard of any problems also.
I hope I explained it o.k. I f you have any questions just let me lnow..

Instead of buying a longer axle bolt I cut the pegs slightly shorter and then took a 1" drill bit and drilled down into the inside of both pegs taking out around 1/2" of material within the base. This gave plenty of room for the stock bolt and nut to thread together

Lots of works with and ol' electric drill but saved me the hassle of having to find a longer bolt.

Re: where to get longer axel?
I took the extra two pegs that came with my BMX bike and bolted them right on. I had to take out the chain adjuster things. not sure if this will cause trouble, but it worked for me. The bolt just comes out of the end of the nut.

Ok here is the deal. My buddy works at a specialty contractor store and has found 2 different bolts that might work, he is going to ups them to me. The bolts are about 15 bucks a each depending on if its stainless and what not. I'll let yall know if it works and what kind of deal he can get if it does work. I don't think dealer cost is gonna happen though b/c you have to assign a project # to the sales receipt or a PO # or something like that.
Oops I didn't even see gixxerguy's post. Oh well.

Re: where to get longer axel?
alright guys I can still get the axles they are $15 each and $5 shipping,
these bolts come with locknuts 2 washers and are 3/4" heads, these bolts are 8.8 grade metal and will not bend, not even with my 220lb fat *** on them as well as my 170lb buddy on the seat while on one wheel. you retain your tensioners cuz taking them off is plain stupid(if you didn't need them the factory wouldn't have put them on there!!)
give me a call at 567-277-0280 as I am not on the computer that much.
