Re: colored plastics/painted
ya, here's what i do.....get a can of krylon fusion, then get a can of the regular krylon in the same color.....clean your plastics..........then put on a coat of the fusion, put on another coat of fusion...this stuff doesn't seem to be too glossy..so now put on a couple of coats of the regular krylon...it should stick and it should be glossy too...

Re: colored plastics/painted
i noticed regular spray paint likes to stratch off really easily. I did my front fender to see how it'll hold and it doesn't take stratches very well. I only did one coat, so that's probably part of the problem.

well, its kinda neat b/c my front fender is hacked, so its somewhat short and whenever i go over on a stoppie it just scratches the front and since my bike has been red, black, and now white, whenever i went over the other day it kinda looked flamed up b/c you could see all three colors with red starting at the tip...

If you must paint your plastics (which I wouldn't recommend doing, except for graphics), clean with plastic prep (rubbing alcohol will work), scuff lightly with a grey scotch-brite pad, spray a light coat of plastic adhesion promoter followed by several light coats of whatever paint you choose, finishing up with a medium wet coat. BUT, you can expect it to crack eventually, as the plastics flex and good luck not scratching it while riding.

Dude, just use Krylon Fusion paint. I have it on my ATV and it's awesome. Just take the old stickers/graphics off, clean with soap and water and spray. It's that simple. You do not need to rough up the plastic, you do not need to prime it, you don't need rubbing alchohol. Spray on the first coat and let it dry. Do the 2nd coat within 24 hours of the first one, do a 3rd within 24hrs of the 2nd one and so on. I doubt you'll need more than 3 coats. This stuff will NOT crack. My ATV fender cracked before the paint peeled or chipped (slid into a tree sideways). If somehow you chip the paint, just respray it again. No big deal. I've attached a few pics of my quad fenders, they were very glossy.

Sherman's got the idea! Or look for a set of "RC motorsports" plastics, they are just like the 03 acerbis plastics except they don't have that flat fender, it's kind of a mix between the 03 and 04 fender
pics of mine coming as soon as I get the graphics
