I want to do the same thing. A local shop that does a lot of ice riding told me they used to put over 600 screws in PW50's front and rear total.

heres the setup for the fiddys on the ice...i might have pics this weekend...
we ride every weekend all winter-northern boys gotta have something to do....
gold screws is all you need...put one in every knobbie-you need to get a new tire with big knobbies, we all use the michelins...in the middle tread, put two per **** (there is room). on the rear, put three per middle **** and then two, alternating btwn the two...
snow is not that good either way...you need straight ice to hook up good...but everything is the same-wheelies, even stoppies, racing is waaay more fun...
anything kills the sharpness of these things....even frozen dirt,etc.
