Question fiddy won't shift properly

ok so imprezawd and i just installed his 88 bore kit w/ oil pump, and now it won't shift properly. i know this has been discussed before, but this seems different than what everyone else has mentioned. when the bike is off, it shifts like it normally would, but when the bike is running it will make a high pitch screeching noise when trying to shift out of neutral. i've tried looking here (http://houseofmotorcycles.bikebandi...dept_name=XR50R), holy **** that's long. sorry, anyways i was concerned that the shifter arm thats on the shift rod wasn't in the correct position, but i have it pointed directly at the center of the clutch assy. and that seems like the only logical position. i'm not sure what else there is to consider as a possible cause... hopefully someone can help me fix this piece of **** asap. thanks.
