i put my new sik fiddys clutch in and now my bike the kick started wont engage, and when i put it in gear and hold the shifter up or down, it is still in gear like no neutral in between, it runs good and shifts throw all the gears so wats wrong anyone, help me quick before i loose any more tools to my temper
i also had this problem..... here is what helped me... the nut and standard head on the outside of the case...loosen the nut and tighten the screw in small increments 1/4 turn would work then tighten the nut .....i took my clutch apart 3 times before i figured this out it sucked *****
man i already adjusted the hell outa my clutch ifi do that screw all the way out the kickstarter goes like there no compression, all the way in it jus the same but hard to do the middle it works some times, but there is still no neutral in between gears
You have to replace the clutch nut locking washer. I had the same problem with mine when putting the HD clutch springs in.
This is the stupid item that caused me all the problems. They are hard to re-use so best get one ahead of time.

Also note when we installed my Kitaco HD springs they didn't fit right in there. The wouldn't allow the clutch to engage or disengage properly. We wollowed out the holes for the springs so they sat betterin there...I wish I would have taken pics to show you guys what I'm talking about.
hey silver surf explain more about that spring thing, cuz when i was puttin my clip back on the end of the clutch basket thing, it was pretty dame hard to put back on i had to use C clamps, and its so tight i dont see how it can work
My friend wadded his fiddy up the other day and the brake pedal stabbed through the engine case. We pulled it off and jbwelded it and put it back together... but now it does kinda like kxrider says. It rides fine, but there isnt a neutral between the gears anymore. If you shift from first to second and hold the shifter up, it still goes straight into gear. What the hell did we do wrong when putting the case back on?

I'll try to explain it. When you put the HD springs in there is no groove for them to sit in and its just too tight when you put it together. They distort and slide sideways...the grooves you make in the metal basket will keep them sitting upright. We used a grinder with a round bit to make 3 1/2 mm impressions or divits for the springs to sit in. The are the exact width of the springs so they sit in these gooves perfectly.
The FOLLOWING IS A COMPLETELY CRUDE DRAWING but hopefully you understand what I'm talking about.
silver surfer just take your engine apart and snap some pics, ya know you want to! i still haven't installed my springs yet, i don't know if they're kitaco but i got'em from twobros. here's the pdf for the install, maybe you could use that to help explain... http://www.twobros.com/Cust_Service/...structions.pdf
i still have no idea what you're talking about, but haven't done the install yet either. are the grooves that you cut full circles, for the spring to seat into? (four total i'd guess).

i got mine back today my springs were not sittin right, and i over tightend the main bolt and crushed some other lil peice of crap usless part, lol, but i gave it to a dude at honda shop and he took it home and fixed it for 20 bucks so its all good thanks anyway everyoen, i was goin to ttry all ur ideas but for 20 bucks u cant beat that
well the first thing you are doing wrong is over tighting the nut i took mine off second these fifffftys dont need cluchies if you want it to be really tricked up then i wold suggest puting a car batteriey on the back seat and attaching a electronico drill to the cluth when you want to engage it touch the wires together
hm he said the springs were not sittin right, and i had over tightend the lock bolt thingy and crushed some lil thing or somthin like that, as for the car battery are you serious thats like the dumbest thign ever
thanks kx i'm gonna install the springs in the next day or two, and i got an inch-pound torque wrench to be precise, so hopefully there won't be any problems. do you know what he did to make the spring seat properly? i'm wondering if its something different than what silver did.
