Snog Hog Tires on z50 Snow Report

Well I finally got to test my new Carlisle Snow Hog tires out in the snow today. It snowed about 2 inches here in Chicago. I started out riding very carefully riding down the street about 2 miles to get to the woods. The tires handled awesome in the wet slush. They did pull up and spray water all over me but Oh well it was fun.

I rode it in the grass and on dirt trails. The tires actually felt great. They didn't slip at all, even when I used the brakes pretty hard. The tires even dug in nicely doing sharp circles and turns in the grass because the tread on the tires goes down the sidewall.

It the forest preserve there are a bunch of parking lots covered in snow.... I was rocking 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear wheelies in the SNOW!!!! I couldn't believe how cool and new of a experience this was. The tires stayed put very nicely.

I put them to the real test doing rolling circles and figure 8's while hanging over the front of the bike. The front tires worked great. I never even crashed the damn thing.

I took a little trail home filled with frozen puddles. I just rode over them like nothing ...you could hear the tires crunching the ice as I rode over them. No slipping.

Bottom line these tires are unbelievable.... I never thought I would ride any motorized 2 wheel bike in the snow. I will be rocking this thing now in any weather.

I paid $42 for the pair shipped to me. To me this was a great deal for tires that performed this well. I would recommend them to anyone with a z50 who wants to ride in the snow or mud. What a deal !!!!!

Those tires look sweet, I always see them for sale on ebay and wondered if they were any good. Is it a bumpy ride with that tread on the street, and did you have to adjust rear wheel all the way back?

iTS A LITTLE BUMPY BUT NOT MUCH. GixxerNick was riding mine with those tires on the street doing circles with those tires.

The tires fit with the stock chain but the front of the swingarm is close like 1/4 inch. I put a new chain $20 on it with an extra 2 links and Its now 3/4 of an inch from touching the swingarm. There is still about 1/4 inch of play on the swingarm for adjustment.

your the biggest knee pad wearing, stoppin for the cops, z50 riding DORKEVER. that shall be the name of eddy's clip in the TAKEOVER.

pan up camera shots of these "ice crushing" new tires, the huge boneless kneepads, to the 5.6 hp dyno tested power plant, then on to the generic high wattage headlight, then DA BEARS sweatshirt, and finally your ugly mug.

I can see it now.

They are not too good on dry pavement taking sharp turns at 40 mph.

That crash kinda hurt because I never let go of the bike...and what even weirder....No Damage whatsoever...not even a scratch.

What size are the tires? I need 6.5 inch tires for my pocket rocket so I can stud them for ice racing. It looks like those tires could stud well.
