Tell me about your digital video camera.

I just had some money fall in my lap and I want to pick up a digital video camera. I am sure I want a Sony but from there I don't have any idea about what model. I would like to have a video input so I can run a helmet cam or whatever cam.

What are you running and what did you pay? Is there any DV camera out there that does good stills also?

i just bought a sony TRV70click here It is the ****. it has a 2 meg 1CCD. and it takes a 1.8 (i think) still pix. just got it yesterday. ebay is the place to buy for a scream'n deal. there are some things to look out for. referb's, factory backed warranty, and if you get a package deal, look out for crappy aftermarket add ons. I.E. lenses, there are a **** load of junk with these package deals. the memory cards that are not sony are junk (most of them), the aftermarket batterys are junk! sony batterys are the ****. those are just a few things to watch out for. hope this helps. but the link above seems to give more then enough info for shopping for the right DV cam.

wrong forum bikefrk (not to be a dick), there's a SL forum that's specifically for computers and electronics. and i'm sure if you do a search there'll be a lotta info on DV cameras. (i want one too, but no $ right now...)
