z 50

Hey everyone,
I came across a smokin deal on a 95 z. I can get it for i think it is 700 shipped to me. What do you all think about this? good deal, bad deal? bike seems to be fairly clean except a couple scratches on the engine case. There isnt any difference between these and a xr correct? thanks

I paid $700 for my 1999 Z50 2 months ago. It was brand new..not a scratch. Guy had it under a cover in his garage for 4 years. I know I got a deal. Duc-Man on this board paid $700 for his 98 Z also and its damn near perfect. $700 for a 95 is a good deal especially if it includes shipping.

Z50's have the same exact engine the xr/crf 50 have. Air cooled 4 stroke motor. You can buy anything you want for the Z's Stuff is a little harder to find for them but its out there if you know where to look.

I have a ton of money in my little Z.

XR, CRF's are cool but I'm a big guy and I like the z50 seat. After all the rides people complain about their asses hurting.....not me..... That damn xr is a thong seat....
I love the look of the Z too and I like different stuff than everyone else has. I was thinking of picking up a CRF50 in the summer and have two bikes. this little thing is so much fun maybe I'll sell my Gixxer.

I have done a shitload more to mine since that picture was taken. Last week we had 25 50's riding in the toys for tots parade here in Chicago.. My 50 was the fastest.

I figured for $700 I could get a pretty much brand new Z50 and put another $1000 worth of cool **** on it and Still be only a couple hundred over the cost of a new stock CRF that I would need to spend big money on to get it suitable for me to ride.

Z's are pimp. The XR seats are just not for me, either are their price. Got my '93 for $530 and it (was) in mint shape. I figured with all the money I saved not getting an XR I can afford to spend a few bucks on mods (big bars, bore kit) without feeling too bad about wasting money on a 50cc bike.

I don't have the big bore kit on either of my bikes, but you can wheelie them just fine stock. I'm not very good so I can't wheelie for very long, but there's plenty of guys that go on forever with the stock 50cc motor.

Those Z50's kinda remind me of the Honda monkeys i saw in Japan. They had tons of different mods for them out there. I bet that stuff would just bolt right on to the z 50's

The stuff does bolt on. Z50R's are considered monkeybikes in Europe and Japan.

I like to think of mine as a cross between a dirtbike and monkeybike now with all the mods I've done.

Look at this site for more info on Monkeybikes.
