got dirt tires, can't stunt now!

i got a free tire from a guy whose son races ktm 50's.. the tire is like brand new.. its a 2.75x10 which is really freakin wide and the tire seems really heavy.. so i put it on last night and i can't stunt at ALL with this thing on there.. when the bike comes up, it immediately falls one direction (left or right) or the other faster than i can get my leg out to balance it..

this tread is super gnarly looking too..much meaner than i need..

does anyone have any suggestions for a GOOD tire designed JUST for stuntin on the street?

i ride dirt occasionaly but I've got dirt tires to run when I do

any suggestions?

the profile on that one looks really steep, is it just because theres no air in it yet?

I'm gonna just do some hairy burnouts on these and wear em down a bit..my old ones were showin tube so they got pulled off.. but i went from one extreme (bald) to the other (wtf kinda tire has 2" ***** juttin out from the side??)

this tire is bad *** in the dirt but sucks everywhere else..

its a stock tire from a new ktm 65sx i believe..

If you like going street to dirt get a set of dual spot DOT aproved tires.

wow this answers everything... when i bought my fiddy it had tires of a racing ktm on it. i cant hardly wheelie because as explained above it instantly pulls me left or right. i thought i was just having a hellova time finding the balance point. so you say to do burnouts huh.

jaxon23, what kind of graphics are on your fiddy? That thing looks pimp! I was thinkin of gettin those scooter tires, but I have a little dirt track in my backyard. This is like hardpack dirt with no rocks, the landings are on woodchips and there's only a few turns. Would those tires be up to the task of riding very mild dirt? I really want street tires, and the ones I have now (stock) are bald anyways.

You might have a hard time riding on dirt that isnt hard packed with street tires . Like i said, get dual sport tires or hard packed tires because of the design.

the dirt tires you're riding are too stiff, they don't flatten out like the stockers do for side-to-side stability. i.e. even if you let a lotta air out they still won't flatten out enough to balance real well. you just need to find some aftermarket tires w/ a softer compound like the stockers had and you'll be just as good as you used to be. sure you might not get a thousand miles out of'em but the stuntin will be worth it. as far as i know they don't make any dual-sport DOT tires for our little 10" rims, but i'm gonna get some of the cheng shin c800 tires for summer (http://store.stuntlife.com/Merchant2...e=XRTireStreet). you need to look up SCOOTER tires those are best street tires for the fiddys.
