xr 50 forks

whats the best solution for getting new fork legs on the fifty?

mine are bent and I've only got about $90 to spend..

i can't seem to find any +1 legs that are worth the money, they are all like $150...

ron ayers has their fork legs on their website for $49/each.. anyone seen any cheaper than that?

I have the stiffer springs so I'd need the bushings too, right?

yup, found out mine were bent today whenever i put on a set of nylon bushings....if you hold out a week or two there's a shop in okc that is going to make them.....call cody at cycle one in del city...suburb of okc.....4056773600
i guess he works at a shop on mondays that is going to start making the cromoly forklegs for about what you are wanting to spend...from what i hear at least.....

hmmmm.. i could probably hold off a little bit.. If i had the right tools, i could probably make a set pretty inexpensively but I don't have a welder!

I know you found someone to make them but I just heated mine up and drove long sockets into them that barely fit in the tube and after heating and driving those down I now have almost completely solid forks. I wiped out this weekend and the bike went about 4 feet in the air and lande on the front wheel and they didnt budge a bit. Anyway just wanted to share the info.

Use some of those solid reinforcement rods that goes inside the fork tubes. Its only about $50-70 bucks and can be used on your stock fork tubes.and if you can't use it then Ill hook you up with my old ones. Its in good shape and for free. but only if your from socal.
