Dirt cheap Z50 clamps

If you're cheap like me and think the aftermarket clamps are a complete ripoff go buy yourself some 400ex clamps. I don't know what other years besides '02 will work, but I can't stress enough how much that these things EXACTLY fit in the stock holes for the handlebar. It's like they were made for the Z50. I'm not sure if they're work on an XR, but I imagine they would. I got these for $10 off Ebay. Standard 7/8" holes so you can use whatever bar you want. I figured I'd pass this along for all my Z bro's

Those clamps look like they are too far spread apart to grab the ribs or threads on your aftermarket BMX style handlebars.

It is when you take a look at the BMX bars. If you would just listen to others advice once in a while... Why do you think the clamp connects right in the middle the 2.5 inch gap is exactly where you want it to clamp down where the ridges on the handlebars are. If they are dont grab right you hit a bump and damn handlebars will fold down on you.

Keep telling yourself it's necessary to waste a lot of money on these things.

If the gap is too far for the BMX bars, how hard would it be to put a little work into the bars to give them some rough edges for gripping ?

Looks like you need to drill a small hole in the handlebar for the throttle assembly stop to go it. Then the throttle will sit on the bars perfectly.
