Old Z50 w/metal tank???

Do these old Z50's with the metal tanks have the same frame as the newer Z50's with the plastic tanks???? I am wondering if I can buy one of these and upgrade the look of it. They all have the same motor right? Can I put in bigger springs?

Thanks for the help,
Nathan

All of the Z50's have metal tanks but you can buy a plastic tank for it . The plastic tanks are big $$$$. I tried but I can't find the link now.

Get yours to look like mine.

I have a headlight and a taillight. I have the stator that runs the light off the motor just like a real motorcycle. The light is a 55 watt car foglight and extremely bright. The taillight is a $10 LED unit from Pep Boys. I also have a switch that turns it off ifyou need to run from the .

The whole setup with headlight, taillight, stator, voltage regulator cost me about $160 but I love riding at night, especially on the trails and it is a must. No batteries to charge either.

What do you want to upgrade it for? The old bike looks pretty mean in its own right.

I have both, no you can't put on the newer style, at least the seat. I haven't looked at the tank closely.

i was going to slap a driving light on there but I want it to look more stock or streamline.

i am also thinking about getting the fairing and headlight that the baja designs kit uses too.
