dratv.com big bore kit quality

http://www.dratv.com/kit2.html
They are selling an 88cc big bore kit w/o the cam for $165. It seems like it's a good deal, but i was wondering if anyone knows anything about the quality and performance compared to the kitako and takew... kits. It says it's made in japan, so i guess thats a plus. How much extra performance would a cam make? Is it worth getting? Also, if i just got a big bore kit and kept the stock head, exhaust, and carb (w/ jetting changes) would it still make a big difference? I want some extra power so i can run from the cops a little faster Also, does it make it harder to ride wheelies w/ a big bore? Thanks a lot guys!

Oh yeah one more thing... If i get an 88cc big bore kit, do i need to get a bigger oil pump and the stiffer clutch and valve springs? thanks

PS...does anyone else have problems w/ the fiddy eating their pants? 2 times my jeans got sucked into the chain. I guess it's b/c i cut em on the sides on the bottom so they go over my shoes.

bigger pic... I am in the market for a big bore also.... anyone have any input on this kit's quality, or this companys rep? Fab 5, Blownsvt,..... anyone? The add says "works best with the stock head" dose this mean that it is no good for a stage 2 tune(head, cam, carb, rev box, rotor). Thanks BTW the Kitaco 88cc kit is only $50 more.

aight guys, here's the haps on the craps. as we all know the stock 50 head sucks ***. and I know that Kitako and Takaegawa are bendin people over with no vasoline. so the cheapest and best way to make some serious power is not to buy one of their preassembled kits. dont get me wrong, its nice to be able to buy all yer stuff in one box, but they are just askin way too much money for that. and a cam for a stock head is a waste of time. so is porting a stock head. (i could write a whole other thread on that). so heres the deal. go to www.dratv.com and order a big bore kit for a 82' and up CT70. this kit comes with a dome piston due to the fact that a CT70 head has a bigger combustion chamber. next find yerself an old CT70 head or the cat's *** would be a XR70 head. dratv sells both, but they are easy to find on the streets. the newer head has a roller bearing cam where as the older one just rolls on the head. now, if yer brave and u know what yer doing, port yer 70 head. if u have no experiance in this, dont do it cuz u CAN and most likely WILL do more damage than good. then order yourself a cam from dratv. the older 70 head cam goes for around $38. u can also buy the intake, carb and filter from him. make sure the intake u buy is for an XR50 and not a CT70. after all that is done and assembled, u are gonna need a pipe to make this monter breahe. go to www.hondaminitrail.com and order their Ultima pipe for $259. that is BY FAR the baddest pipe available in ALL of the XR50 aftermarket. all of this stuff i mentioned not including the price of the head and the labor comes to around $565. not too bad of a price to pay to have the baddest fiddy on the streets. a 110 with a stock 50 head and a lame *** pipe would have a hard time catchin up to a bike with this set up. i just spilled my power secrets to the whole damn website. any more questions let me know. always glad to make a fiddy faster.

I have the dratv kit in my bike and it is a TOP NOTCH quality kit.
I f you lo ok at that kit and the Kitaco side by side you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. I swear they are all made in the same place and different packaging put on them.

For that price it is the biggest performance for $$$ thing you can do to your bike...period.....

Sano pipe is just as good, but tucked in more resulting in alot less burns. if you get a pipe, get a Sano.

Fab 5 no one is dissin you bro we are giving the sano rider a hard time because he always chimes in with Sano parts are the best!, but there never seems to be a reason behind his opinion, other than the fact that he is sponsored by them. No dis to you bro, or your crew....

This thread was pointed out to me. I want you to know, freak has absolutely no affiliation with sano what so ever, maybe he just likes there parts.

You say theres no reasoning behind his explanmations (sp?), I havn't read through them all, but on the last one it said "the sano pipe is tucked, resulting in less burns" The sano pipe and classic pipe are very identical, but the sano pipe is tucked, like he said.

I dont understand where you guys get off saying he rides for sano, they pay him to say this, etc, when you guys are the ones who have absolutely no reasoning for saying hes sponsored by sano, or whatever.

That would be like me saying your sponsored by honda mini trail, your biased, blah blah blah.

The sano team consists of me, Kyle Engle, Brady Sheren, Chris Clark, Chris Skinner, and Sheppard...so, before you have reasoning besides the fact that he likes sano products, dont open your mouth.

I dont mean to start a big fight, or everyone against me im just sharing my 2 cents.

logikal... it says right under his avatar" Rides with Sano", and he always always says Sano is the best, no matter what....just because a pipe is more tucked in dosent make it a better pipe, how much exhaust it flows, weight, and build quality determine if an exhaust system is good., the stock exhaust is tucked in very nicely it must be the best pipe available...... NOT

I never said you did. I was just pointing out an example...Like i said at the bottom of my post, I didnt mean to start a fight with you guys. I obviously didnt check more into it on what freak was saying, this is the first topic that cought my attention.

Its not my sano crap, I do not make it, I run it. I run it for a good reason and that reason being I like there products. Also, how old are you anyway? I hopre you feel like a big man talking **** to a 13 year old.

First of all, I dont know whta he mean by "rides with sano". He has absolutely no affiliation. Whatever he says, dont take that into effect that sano doesnt make good stuff.

I never said ultima wasnt a good pipe. I actually, ran that pipe until my bike recently got stolen. Bike pic attached, so if you see it, beat his ***, get my bike back, and call me at 805 389 1144 or email me at suzuki52905@hotmail.com

Anyways, back on subject. Sorry if I said anything wrong to offend anyone, I didnt really "investigate it" but whatever freak says, dont take it negitive on sano.

thanks for the responses, now more questions.....

thanks for sharing your big bore knowledge fab5fiddy
I got a few questions for u...
-You say that u can use an old 70 head or a new one. I have a friend who says he can get me a ct70 head, but i was wondering if it would be worth it to find a newer head like from an xr70 instead, because it has the bearings. Would it last longer or does it even matter?
-http://www.dratv.com/20micaunreca.html Is this the carb that i would need?
-http://www.dratv.com/22maun.html Is this the intake manifold i would need? Also, are there any modifications i would have to do to get the carb and intake to fit or would it be a bolt on fit?
-Would i need the stiffer valve and clutch springs w/ these mods too?
-I ride in the neighborhood a lot so i really need a quiet pipe, so would i still get a good performance gain if i stayed w/ the stock pipe?

Thanks!
