FINALLY!!!!! Ahhhhh

well, finally got one...it is great...
ya know, i really didn't want to spend too much, but, i tell ya, once you start, its hard not too, so, street tires and big bar kit are on the way, and i think i might paint the swingarm black...anyone had any experience with this?? how about painting the plastics?? they have that new plastic paint out..is it any good??
also, did you guys know that the cam cover is bare metal and can be polished with a little mother's and an air wheel?? looks like a little mirror..lol...

i painted my frame blue and plastics orange. the plastics held up nicely, only bad part is when you rash them the red shows through, but the paint doesn't flake off. i used this stuff called "bullfrog". it's a clear spray that comes in a can, you use scotchbright pad on the plastics, clean them, then spray this stuff on it and let it sit for a copule minutes then you spray your paint on it while it's still wet. keeps the paint on there real nice.

so you guys would suggest either using the bullfrog stuff or the plastic paint? both available at home depot i assume??
also, these things are like regular bikes right? wet stator??? read: i was thinking about painting or polishing the case, will i need a new gasket?
sorry for the ignorance, just never had an xr50 apart before...

oh, and wait, the stator is on the left side of the bike?? clutch on the left??? i wanted to eventually paint of polish both sides?? what does the nut go to on the right side?? both sides wet??
once again, sorry for the stupid questions...
edit: i guess the right side would have to be wet..duh... well, is it hard to get off??

ya, the only thing is that i dunno if it will fit with the big bars and the 12 bar.....i'll post on this thread whenever the big bars come in, but it will be a little while before the 12 bar is ordered......
oh, and i think the side cover just houses the ignition right? i had an xr80 whenever i was like 10 and all it had was the points and flywheel on that side right????i still think i need to pick up a gasket though.....

hauling 50s

will a 50 fit in the back of a 98 blazer? I got a sub box in there too and i might be pickin up a 50 today. The sub box is against the rear seat and like a foot tall and goes back another foot or so.

most likely, tie the front end down on the side without the sub, i've got an rf12 in a regular box, out of my old car and i was looking at it, about like you seem to be describing, and i'm pretty sure it will fit, as long as the front end is tied down you can swing the back end around....and remember to turn the fuel off....
will post this weekend pics here, should have the big bar kit then if not by tuesday....
