DAmn... Tore up my rear shock installing spring #$%%$!
I decided to install my new fast 50 heavy duty springs today. Front installation went by smoothly without a hitch..... I can't say the same for the rear though
I followed the instructions exactly will trying to take it apart.... heated up the top eyelid, held the nut on the shaft while I spun the top eyelid counter-clockwise with a screwdriver. The eyelid STARTED to unscrew and about halfway up it started getting easier to turn. I figured 'hey this was easy!' Then I noticed the entire shaft was spinning even though I was holding the nut in place......%^$@#$^$% threads are stripped!
I messed with it for about 2 more hours with lock grips (not to good on the shaft!) until I gave up. No way to get it apart now...
Anyone know how much a new rear shock is?????
