me and the boys at work got to talking and came up with this sensational idea.

A "Cannonball" race in the city of Chicago. Like a real Cannonball run this event will be illegal as hell. it will entail a race starting at Roger's Park Lakefront all the way down to Belmont Harbour and back. All via the Lakefront bicycle path. The event will kick of a series of XR50 Cannonball races in the Chicagoland area and hopefully expand to cities all over the country.

$10 dollars a head to get in. payouts will be as follows.

>10 riders 1st $50 2nd $30 3rd $20
>20 riders 1st $100 2nd $50 3rd $25 4th $15 5th $10
>30 riders 1st $150 2nd $75 3rd $45 4th $ 20 5th $10
>40 riders 1st $200 2nd $100 3rd $50 4th $30 5th $20
>50 riders 1st $250 2nd $125 3rd $65 4th $35 5th $25

I'd like to get the 1st race organized to run Nov 1. if not Nov 8. Saturday Night around 11o'clock is the start time we feel to be the best. that way the winners can take their winnings to one of the thousands of bars to celebrate. The Chicago Police bicycle cops turn in early during the colder months. and do not patrol the lakefront paths, so for the most part we should be cool, but there's always that chance. I've made a list of riders I expect to show up and race. ANY AND ALL ARE WELCOME.

1 question....What about you ******* with your 50's that do 60 mph? You know all of us run stock motors! At any rate...I am in no matter what CC motor you are running, I know many others will attend.

there will either be someone there handing out ticket stub. or a some kind of landmark that you will need to pick a stub up at. still need to see how many heads will be in on the race.

kc50 has already volunteered to film. probably going to have several camera men and other spectators in key area's.

this is gonna be the best thing to happen to m/c's since the xr50 itself.

Aight. I tried to get a fiddy today at CCC, but my credit alone wasn't good enough. And the guys I was goin' thru wouldn't try me + my girl, even after the finance guys said to try it. So I'm gonna be there with a Digital Cam Corder. If ya guys need any certain spots covered, email me at bwa@chicagoriders.com . If ya don't, I'm gonna ride along in my truck filmin' this escapade. :-D

 

xr50's only. big bore kits are seperate class. if there are only a few big bores we will have a predetermined handicap in which they will have a delayed start.

other than that it's a free for all.. physical contact and object throwing/dispensing is encouraged. id bring/wear your big bike helmets for sure.

MXC elimination will be filming. don't be part of kenny's 10 most extreme eliminations of the day. cuz it will hurt. "GEt it on"
