Just got a fifty, got a couple questions

I bought a 05 crf50, its got street tires, a drD pipe, Handbrake, BBR tall bar/ throttle kit, Big gun CdIi, n front and rear hd springs, and pegs

I can ride wheelies fine but i just feel like i have to try to hard to get it to bp.... i have a 110cc lifan engine with the 4 speed manual sitting in my garage, i was wondering if anyone has ever put one in there stunt 50, i feel bad because i love hondas engines but i just feel like it make it a lot more fun to mess around on, please let me know... also what would be the best gear ratio for the stock 50cc/110cc? thanks

Unless u are USE to riding wheelies on the 50. You will believe that you have to TRY to hard. Once u learn the basics, it gets easier and easier each time. Its just something new to you thats why it seems so hard. Give urself some seat time and some practice. You'll be pulling it up like its nothing to it....=-)

It isnt your quad though. You think just because u rock wheelies on ur quad all day, u should be able to rock them on the 50 all day. That is simply not the case at all. You are dealing with 2 different toys with 2 different balance points and most of all 2 extra wheels on ur quad. I know guys who can rock 636's all day long in the lot, but they can NOT ride a 50 if their life depended on it........That just goes to show that everything is different. The concept may be the same, but everything else changes between 2 different bikes......You keep stauling because your over braking and not at a steady throttle. The throttle over rides the brake (to an extent). So u literally have to be grabbing the hell outta the brake to over take the throttle.......Stay steady on ur throttle and just flirt with ur brake. Learn what it does and doesnt do when u do specific things.....You have to learn what will and will not make the bike do what u want it to do........Trust me its not your quad, so dont even let that **** sink in ur head..........Practice and practice, i guarantee u that is the ONLY thing that will teach u....=-)

Keep in mind the 50 is shorter than ur quad and ur SV. Therfore the balance point is also smaller. Which means u have less room for error when it comes to the 50. You dont have near the back and fourth rocking room on the 50 as u do ur SV.....You have to learn to be damn near precise when it comes to such a small toy with very little BP...=-)

I would have stuck with the 50 engine and got use to it before i decided to step up to a 110. IMO, your only making it harder to teach urself...=-)

Re: Just got a fifty, got a couple questions

the 50 motor is prolly better to learn on but for rippin *** and wheelies the 110 with a clutch is more fun. Me and a buddy of mine built one with all the leftover parts we had and got a 110 motor and it was a blast havin the clutch.

Thats where a manual clutch comes in real handy at, hehe....=-)

And to the other poster.....Yeah ripping *** wheelies on a 110 is fun. But if u cant control a 50, then controlling the 110 is gonna be alot more difficult, maybe even more painful. I like rockin my 50 just as much as i like rocking the 450 on streets. Yeah the 450 is a blast, but the 50 teaches me so many things that the 450 would have already taught me the hard way.......I like it when the kids "think" they are gonna hop on a supermoto and show me how to ride streets with it, LMAO........Granted its easy IF u have experience learning control over something. But if u just hop on it not knowing ****, then it'll probably be the last time u ever wanna ride a 450 on the street.........This is why i said the stock 50 is perfect to learn on. And yes an 88cc kit is even more fun. But i'd only recommend the 88cc kit after u learn how to control your stock 50......It just amazes me now days that all the "kids" think they just need the biggest baddest bike they make (1000's for instance). But it really pisses them off when i take my damn supermoto and have to ride it to the slowest potential, just for the little kids on the 1000s to keep up.....=-)

A bigger engine, doesnt make the bike faster. A rider with smaller ***** just makes it slower...=-)

Like he said... you are better off learning on the stock motor... And i would hate to have a clutch when you start getting to harder tricks

Re: Just got a fifty, got a couple questions

well, it made the bike alot more fun, i have just been messing around with it, ido not do really technical tricks yet but i do know that this made it alot more fun to do wheelies both high and low speeds, im not sure why people were so against it, but i am not trying to become a professional in lot tricks, but i was looking for my fifty to bring me more joy in my spare time and thats exactly what it did.

hmmmm, well i would have to disagree with that one, the 110cc engine made my crf faster no doubt... and i would also say that just because someone has a little less "*****" or guts then someone else wont always make them slower.... a little slower to learn maybe.

Re: Just got a fifty, got a couple questions

i have a crf50 with 88kit, one with the 110 manual and a 12" 86cc crf mod, and yes all the bike are fun but on the dirt track/ go-kart track/ and in the lots the crf50 with the 88kit busts the biggest combos and always and i mean always wins the race! i have beat 125's on the track with the 88cc. you will start to dislike that 110 engine as soon as it start acting up!

You see u missed the point.....YOU on a 110cc engine and ME on a 50cc engine. Is like YOU on a 1000cc and Valentino Rossi on a 600cc. Chances are HIS experience will out weight urs by all means. And chances are he has bigger ***** to lean the bike over damn near enough to drag the swingarm spools. YOU on the other hand most likely couldnt ride the 1000cc near to the potential that HE can ride the 600cc......Which goes back to my point. The bigger engine doesnt make the bike faster. The lack of ball size just makes you slower..........By no means am i saying im a professional. But i have seen a 50cc Vespa smoke my 636 around a 2.5mile 14 turn racetrack......Simply not because he was on the bigger bike. But because he has the ***** to through that 50cc Vespa around like its a little bitch. No way in hell am i gonna throw my 636 around like that.....=-)

Jack Cooke: You and I know this, because we both speak from experience, hehe

Re: Just got a fifty, got a couple questions

I think the point everyone is trying to make is that, stunting a 50 is more about balance than power. It took me almost a few months to pull a wheelie more then 20 feet. After that I was able to do a whole parking lot, and then keep adding combos. Iv been riding for 3 years and just got an 88 kit. The 88 makes some stuff easy and other stuff hard. Im glad I stuck with the 50 though and got the hang of the bike before I just started using POWER and BRAKE to compensate for my lack of experiance. It makes throtle control and slow stuff easier now that I have gone through those steps.
