So, funny story, I went to switch out my front sprocket on my 2003 xr50 last night, and found that the shaft pattern does not match up with my new sprocket at all.

The new one has 6 large teeth that fit on a 17mm shaft, and the old one has about 25 tiny teeth.

I looked online to find wtf is going on, from online OEM stores, and all of the schematics show the 17mm shaft with 6 effing teeth!!!

so uhh, what am I supposed to do? I can sport the stocker, of course, but im just erked by this.

 

sounds like someone changed your countershaft, or you don't have an OEM honda motor. They should have the course plines.

 

the engine has honda stamped on it, so maybe the internals have been messed with. Goddammit

 

Pretty sure 03 is fine spline. i think any xr/crf 50 is fine, any z50 is course.
