help a girl wheelie
Re: help a girl wheelie
lol i like the last vid. it took me a while to get over the fear of the front wheel coming up and leaning backwards but once you do that you can keep going farther and farther. i mean i'm not even good at riding but it looks like you're keeping your body pretty straight instead of leaning back. where in jersey are you? i got a good friend on the shore.
last one is the best haha.. were in Brick/Point Pleasant area.
that was the first time trying with feet down so we'll see how she progresess
Re: help a girl wheelie
Use your feet to help pull the bike up. That way u dont need soo much throttle to get it. Too much throttle (like ur doing), is going to cause the bike to fly out from underneathe you eventually. The object is too get the whel as close to balance point, with as little throttle as possible. Once you get the wheel up, u can use the throttle to control it for the time being..........You have to crawl before you can walk....=-)
PS: When the wheel is closer to balance point. You can keep it up with small amounts of throttle.............After u get descent at it, u will learn that when riding staright wheelies. There really isnt a need for the rear brake at all............Throttle control and balance are the two things you need to concentrate on....After that, then u can concentrate on rear brake control....When u combine all 3 of them, there isnt a damn thing u cant do on the 50, hehe...=-)

Do it ONE HANDED!

Sorry, it's old but I could'nt resist.
Now my 2 cents.
If you are going to learn by doing *** drags then try to hold the bike from rolling forward with your feet while you throttle gently until the front end is up to bp then let the feet slide gradually building up.
Now once you learn bp and throttle. STOP THAT **** immediately and lift the feet to pegs and cover rear brake and get good doing it right. If you do *** drags for too long you will develope bad habits that will be hard to break.
Just practice it right and it will come.

Re: help a girl wheelie
I'm going to bring this back to life!
After 2 months of owning my 50, finally got brave and stunted....well attempted. It's not like I didn't want to when I got it, but was recovering from surgery (cervical fusion, 1 level). So after a few hours and 4-5 blisters later (had gloves), I got the concept down. I'm still on dirt tires and some spots in teh yard were hard and some were soft so it was hard to predict how quick and smooth it'd come up. I kinda found the BP and definitely can get the front wheel up no, just need to play more.
I'd have alot more room on concrete playing, is it wise to learn wheelies on dirt tires on the street or will I just be making it harder for myself to learn?

Re: help a girl wheelie
the dirt tires are gong to make your bike want to go side to side, rather then nice and straight when doing wheelies on the pavement. the knobbies are what through ou off. get some street tires and you will have a bigger easier BP. my opinion is to stay away from the grass/dirt. wear some good gear, get some street tire, hit a good open lot and you will progress fast!
practice, practice, practice....
practice, practice, practice....
Re: help a girl wheelie
I got the tires, just not looking forward to mounting them! lol. Got a ton of other 50stunt stuff to put on too, but wanna tear it down and do it all at once. Choices.... damn. If I got time this weekend, I'll just bite the bullet and tear it down so I can do some painting and get it back together. I'll worry about doing a full rebuild next year after I can actually stunt, lol.
What's the norm to wear? dirt bike or full face? I got a older spare full face helmet I wear at the drag strip when I run the Trailblazer SS... but maybe to heavy for stunting?

Re: help a girl wheelie
ya installing the street tires are a bitch. i pintched both stock tubes trying to install them. the stock tubes are ****, so when installing the street tire use hd tubes.
when i am riding hard, busting out new tricks, or roling fast stoppies/wheelies i wear
gloves, icon vest, and helmet. i always bring both my helmets, one is a icon full face and the other is a fox dirt helmet. and i have been beating the **** out of my legs low siding doing fast circles laitly, so i plan on getting a good set of shin/knee gaurds.

Re: help a girl wheelie
I got some tubes and tire irons from 50stunt, so I should be good and hopefully easier. Not looking forward to putting them on though, but think I'll be doing that this weekend if anything. I think that's going to be the kicker learning to ride them.
I need to put the armor back in my light jacket or wear my old heavy one. I'll wear my old helmet, I'd be pissed if I slammed my new carbon helmet on teh concrete!
I got soem riding pants, worth putting on for learning wheelies? They're a little baggy, seems like they'll get in the way if anything.

Re: help a girl wheelie
I have always changed the rear sproket. Got a 50stunt 40 tooth and a new chain, comes right up in 2nd gear no problem, 1st is kinda short but whatever its all in what you prefer....thats why they sell the parts!
Re: help a girl wheelie
Ummm yeah i bust my *** all the time. For instance i was trying to stand on the back pegs. Then jump right into special k and the moment ur *** hits the seat BRING THE WHEEL UP. Wow was that a little challenging to begin with, LoL.
