Big Bar Preference?

Anyone like one more than the others? Just curious on some input before I buy one, BBK is cheaper than 50stunt and I kinda dig the shine.

Any input is appreciated!!

Re: Big Bar Preference?

i have BBR bars on my bike. they did bend, and not a whole lot, but it was a pretty extreme situation. i was riding in my backyard, probably going like 15-20, bailed off the bike, it fell sideways and the right side handlebar stuck in the ground and the whole bike actually flipped over, pivoting on that handlebar, and then it landed upside down. looked pretty crazy lol. it's not bent a whole lot, and i actually like it now. feels 'custom'.

anyways, the advantage is if you get the 50 stunt bars you can get those grip protector things too that thread into them.

Re: Big Bar Preference?

Damn, the one brand I've seen but didn't consider! Sounds like no matter, protaper is the way to go... especially with adjustablity for sure cause I'm sure everyone rides different!

Glad I asked, thanks for the help!

Re: Big Bar Preference?

I'm running Pro Tapers with a Two Bros clamp and I really like it. I've considered getting some 50stunt bars, but I'm just not a fan of the BMX style bar design. I wish Ryan would make both styles...

Re: Big Bar Preference?

Was fixing to order the Pro Taper, but not 100% sure it's actually a big bar kit though it states 7" rise. Googling shows kits from $190 to $270 (for two bros) in price... Any chance you have a part number please?

Here's the kits...just huge price difference and can't really find good info from Pro Taper site either..

Re: Big Bar Preference?

I don't know exactly what mine has on it (bought it with the stuff already there) but it looks closer (not exact) to the second link. My bars don't have the welded in cross bar that the first kit has and the clamp is more like the second one...

Re: Big Bar Preference?

personally ive only used BBR kits and the only issue ive ever had is slightly bent bars but IIRC the bike was hit by a car so thats not bad considering what happened. You couldnt even notice unless you truly looked at it tho. BBR kits go for 160 shipped on ebay vs the protaper at 220 shipped. Its all preference tho, we all run BBR out here tho.

Re: Big Bar Preference?

the first link is what you want and what i have! they are only 7" rise rather than 8" because the tripple is taller. and its full adjustable! looped my bike many times and ran into some **** pritty fast and have not bent the bars yet. ryan moore at 50stunt also made a set of bar ends to fit, you just have to e-mail him and ask.

Re: Big Bar Preference?

Man, it's weird how earlier when looking at eBay, didn't find much of anything worthwhile. After Criscone24 posted the link I did another search and found something worthwhile! $170 shipped for ProTaper bars that JC has, can't go wrong with that price so just ordered it. Thanks for all the help, got some good stuff coming now and adjustable to my riding style! Also go Sik50 suspension on the way already to, so I'm pretty much setup now. I've only had the bike for 1 week today and already took it from stock to pic below with some ebay plastics (to save stock ones), tall seat and VERY good cleaning and even little polish on the rims, lol. Within this next week, suspension and bars will be on so I can't wait. I think it's peg time now, at least rear ones.

i like the bbr ones. pro taper strip easy and move and the 50 stunt ones are way to low. i got bbr ones but have protaper bars and like them think there just right.

Re: Big Bar Preference?

Thanks! It's from a store, but a random find since I looked for the past couple days. He has 5 more and also like to note, he even sent an email to me that it'll ship out Monday and should be in my hands by Tuesday! Even better!

Re: Big Bar Preference?

i **** kick my bike and let 3-4 of my friends ride it regularly and never once have had them move or strip. use a little blue loctite when installing and torque the bolt to proper lbs. and pattern. protaper sends a install seet with all the specs in the kit.
you will love them!

That does remind me to get some more. Not sure if I have enough... Plus few other things I need when I change out the suspension too.
