I'm with sexybiker! I feel that a stock 50 isn't powerfull enough to get hurt on (plus it sits real low so if you do fall, the ground isn't that far away). And I also wear gloves because I get a better grip and cus calluses are not my friend.

It ain't how fast you're going, it's how hard you hit. Don't let the slow speed of the fiddy fool you, you can crack your head open real easy on one, especially on pavement.

Picture looping a wheelie in 2nd and falling back and slamming your head on the pavement. Think that's not gonna hurt? Think again.

Watch the "50 Nuts" video. There's a scene where the guys are goofin around on a hockey rink. One kid goes for a heel-clicker over a jump and does a face plant. Probably going less than 10 mph. Slams his face down, breaks his nose, splits his lips open and I think I saw him spit a tooth out. Looked fairly painful. A helmet would have protected him from all of it. But I guess for those guys it's cooler to smash your face than wear a helmet.

you know that is true. but i guess it would have to go with how extreme you go. when i ride the fiddy i am not doing any miraculous(sp) things. doing normal ole things, things i am adapted to. as for trying out new tricks i think you should always wear a helmet.
