I'm not sure if it will start cause it feels like something is restricting the piston

It should start. If its got good compression it should fire. Make sure you got yhr kill set in the run position and the key in it. I would hate to read this later on and your boy sold you some bad ****.

Who put the big bore kit in? If they didn't know how they could have not seated the rings right or a whole number of things could be screwed. Does it sound bad when you kick it over? You better do some research on the install. There is a reason he never rode it. No one owns a 50 and doesn't ride it. Unless they are a *****...

Re: 2000 xr50 help!

take the spark plug out and kick it over a few times. Also check and adjust the valves because they could be way out of adjustment.

If that doesn't work then check the timing on the cam because it sounds like the exhaust valve isn't opening causing all the pressure you are feeling.

Re: 2000 xr50 help!

what he said^^^^^

plus if it sat for 2 years, firat thing you should have drained the gas in the tank, and carb. if you do get it running and it runs like poo, clean the carbs. the jets are prolly all gummed up from the old gas.
good luck
