Re: stock exhaust OR???

The stock tip on the stock exhaust is what makes it quiet . Do not buy a power tip for a stock exhaust if you are trying to be quiet .

You should probably sell the pipe you have , then buy a stock exhaust . They are pretty cheap and you could sell/find one at most fiddy sites .

+1 on the stock. I'm running the powertip and don't have any trouble with neighbors so i will keep on using it. I wouldn't mind running the stock tip though, i just like how it sounds iwth the poweritp.

Re: stock exhaust OR???

luckily wit the powerr tip you can easily swap if you wanna go night ridin or something.

although i do have to add that the powertip did make a difference in the revving and power distribution on my bike. i cant say it actually added power. but my bikes carb has never been adjusted or anything so maybe takiing the stock baffle out evened out the mixture or somethin. I dont know **** bout carbs. I just ride

either way imo you cant go wrong wit the versitilty of a poweritp and ur stock tip.

Re: stock exhaust OR???

Not only will you be stealth but it may actually run better stock.

I've had a two brothers pipe and another aftermarket pipe (not sure what) that was on a bike I bought already and hated them both. To me, both seem to make first gear rap out quicker. In other words, run out of gear and top out sooner in a wheelie.

I think the little 50 motor may benefit from exhaust scavenging power in slow low power applications. That is the little bit of back pressure from stock exhaust after the up stroke of the piston helps the down stroke making more smooth sustainable power.

Cant really explain it, I just know stock is better for smooth stunting.

Re: stock exhaust OR???

i can agree with you on that my good sir. I deceided to go back to stock and ditch the powertip.

as wierd as it sounds putting the powertip on seemed to give it more torque but less top end.

maybe that has to do with why i was dropping circles down quicker than i should have been

Re: stock exhaust OR???

rode more wit the stock tip today and everything is deffinatly smoother. Wheelies, circles, etc. i dont have to be so choppy on the throttle.

only complaint is that i got kinda aquainted with the sound of the powertip to keep the engine around my favorite rpm. no big deal tho. in the end doin a wheelie should be by feel .

also i may add that i am pretty deaf since im sick now so i can't hear much of anything.
