get use to the gas and the street tires will be better too and just mess wit it till u get the throttle control down and youll be set and do the wheelies in 2nd gear and a good thing to get would a be a rear hand brake 50stuntt

Re: Wheelie Balance Help

if you got the pirellis you will notice they way alot more then stock tires which will make it hard to get the wheel up

I would disagree with learning them in 2nd I wasted many weeks trying to learn them in second becasue you can use ride them out and that doesn't get you anywhere

where as in first gear you have to stay in balance point to keep a wheelie going, make sure you pull the bike up straight and keep your feet on the pegs and use your kness for balance

Re: Wheelie Balance Help

thats tough to say. i think 50's wheelie themselves lol...i found it easier to learn in 2nd with some momentum. now i can do w/e gear. just keep practicing til ya find the sweet spot.

and you dont need a hb but you will want one for combos soon enough trust me

Re: Wheelie Balance Help

IMO, 1st gear is the place to be. 2nd gear wheelies real easy and it takes nothing to keep it up at the speed in 2nd gear. Also, it doesnt swerve from side to side as bad in 2nd gear either...1st gear will teach you just about anything, except how to go 100mph, LMAO......Also, the street tires will make circles come to life. Now that i have mine, i can finally say im glad i made that investment.........Street tires, rear hand brake from 50 stunt, and you should be good to go.........Hell i ride mine more than i do the big bike now days....Just feels great when i can throw the 50 a few back flips, pick it back up and ride. The big bike usually breaks something when i throw it a few back flips, LMAO....=-)

Re: Wheelie Balance Help

ive had my 50 for a while and to be honest me n my friends only practice stand-ups in 1st or 2nd...our sitdowns are garbage but i would like to practice more. what i was doing was going in first put it into 2nd and the thing jumps up...but since everyone is suggesting 1st, what way are you doing them. Just accelerating in 1st, let off, throttle again, pull back sit back and it comes up?

thanks (if that made any sence)

well getting the front wheel up on a stock 50 in 1st gear is all about timing what you will want to do is give it gas a split second later pull back

Re: Wheelie Balance Help

1st gear is tricky getting the wheel up. What you can do is push both feet on the ground and gas it up. Once it comes up, you can then practice picking ur feet up and keeping the bike balanced. The 50 will wheelie with just throttle, but u do have to time it right. Takes some practice and getting use to, but once u learn it, its cake.......I always just give mine some throttle, wait a short sec, then pull back and sit back (cover the rear brake). At first it was coming up slow, and i was having to throttle it alot to keep it up, but it kept running out of gear on me......But once u learn it, u will have it sitting at BP and the bike will barely be moving......Also, since i put my 12 bar on it (gave it some weight on the azz end). Mine is a little easier to pull the wheelies vs not having the bar..........To each his own........But it all boils down to "seat time".....=-)

Re: Wheelie Balance Help

thanks guys............ya i find 2nd alot smoother and easier to pop up. But ya i kno practice makes perfect......i did not kno how to do a stand up and my cbr wen summer started then after summer ended i was doing stand ups for about half a mile. in and out bp and seem to get it there yet. hope i can find it wit this fiddy and transfer skill over the the mother bike.

On the way

1. big bar kit
2. 12 bar
3. street tires
4. Handbrake
5. pegs
6. rev box
7. tall seat

im trying to stunt a bone stock fiddy right now. lol

seems like wen i get go left or right its way to late to correct the mistakes. its easy to balance with my feet out but not on pegs.

Re: Wheelie Balance Help

You can stunt a bone stock Fiddy. Your parts list will just make it easier for you, LoL. Once you learn, u will kill a bone stock 50

Heres my list of parts on my 06

1: BBR complete front end (BBR triples, BBR sp5 forks, BBR big bars, BBR throttle assembly)
2: BBR +1 shift lever (foldable)
3: BBR tall gripper seat (BBR skid plate, not on the bike)
4: Sik 50's plastics
5: Fat foot pegs
6: iShock rear suspension
7: 50stunt parts.......12-bar, advanced rear hand brake setup, rear stunt pegs, shoe saver, pirelli street tires, and some stickers, LoL

Other then that, its just a stock motor, LoL.....=-)

Re: Wheelie Balance Help

I prefer learning in first. I just roll to a stop, give it a little gas (just enough for it to start to catch), then lean back and give it more. It's mostly body weight transfer. I also learned stand ups first (yay for pegs). In second I could do stand ups pretty well, but I didn't have any brake control so I learned it in first and now I can do pretty long 2nd gears ones. I hate 2nd gear sitdowns though, I've looped 4 or 5 already...

HB's on the way , keep practicing the sitdowns though, there harder becuase you pretty much have to use the brake or you'll loop.

Sweet! Yeah, I always think about the brake...about the time the bike is 5 or 6 feet away.

next time out try riding the brake the whole time, that way if it starts to loop, all you gotta do is close the throttle, then once your comfortable use it less and less.

Sounds like you arent at bp yet. Probably close, but still chasing some. You should be able to bring it up from a stop and then just blip the throttle every now and then to keep it up.
