Those who stunt 50's and big bikes...come inside...

First, let me start by saying I love my 50's, the fact that I can rip wheelies down my street, by the local popo, and down to the park by my house without getting arrested makes them irreplaceable.

I am no pro 50 rider, but I have most of the tricks down, still working on good stoppies and unicycles, but other then that I can do most of the rest. I have really only been riding the 50 for a few months and have only gone out maybe 10-15 times, so I feel that 50's are not too hard to pick up.

I also have a 05 GSXR750 that I have considered stunting (I currently just ride sit downs on the street with it, dont want to drop it until its got a cage at least) but I want to talk to those who have both and figure out the pro's and con's of the big bikes versus the 50's.

Which do you feel is more fun, more stable, easier, etc.? I dont have tons of extra time working Mon-Fri 8am-6pm and powerlifting in between, but I spend a lot of time day dreaming about stunting the big bike and want to know if it is one of those "dont meet your hero's" things or not.

Sorry for the long post.

Cliff notes: Big Bikes vs. 50's, are big bikes that much better, why?

i dont know if that was supposed to be a crack on me or something, but i'll answer it either way. when you are about to pull a a bunch of weight, chalk coming off your hands like it is snowing, a 300lb dude smacks the **** out of you and tells you that you gotta pull that weight or look like a *****, its pretty effin awesome, especially once you are done, endorphines running through your body, a sense of personal accomplishment, etc. i love it. between that and stunting i dont know how "normal" people can make it

Well the bike bikes are fun, but the 50's are a BLAST. I love being able to drop the 50 and not spend a couple hundred bucks putting it back together. Hell most of the time, nothing breaks on the Fiddy. The big bike is prone to break easier. Lets face it the more something weighs, the harder its going to fall. The big bikes get some attention like "wow that guy has some good control, or wow he does HC circles better than most peeps ride PERIOD"...But the fiddy, its funny as hell seeing everyone with this look on their face like "WTF, how does he do that on that little azz bike"...You would be surprised at how much you can learn from a little bike. And you would be even more surprised at how easy the little bike will hurt you. Also, the big bikes tend to be magnets for trouble "especially cops", and i dont care if your in the lot or not, LoL......The FIddy, i can kill neighborhood after neighborhood, after park after park, after school after school....And not once have i been harassed by a cop, like i would on the big bike.........I guess they dont see the little bikes as dangerous as the big bikes. But every true stunter knows that they are BOTH dangerous, and they both are capable of taking a life.....=-)

Respect it and fear it.............But kill it every minute, LoL

i have an 06 636 for the street and an 07 50 stunted out.i love doin stuff on the fiddy it teaches you how to find bp and brake control also throttle control. bp on a fiddy is very small so it take a lil bit to find it and keep it there or go behind and com back. i only do lil woolies on the big bike cuz its minty as hell and id like to keep it like that. thats why im pickin up an 03 636 all setup this weekend as long as we dnt get pounded here wit snow.

Re: Those who stunt 50's and big bikes...come inside...

they're both similar, and yet totally different. You'll definitely learn brake control and balance point with the 50... and I've been just as injured riding my 50 as I have on the big bike

I love my 50, no way could I ever sell it. If I had a gun to my head and had to sell one... I'd probably sell my f4i before my 50.

Re: Those who stunt 50's and big bikes...come inside...

ive got a 00zx6r and i cant stutn it yet...has no rear brakes or right side footpeg. i always cover the brake no matter what if it dont have a hb or footbrake i wont try to wheely it. i had my buddies tt50 for awhile and i got good on it quick. can go up to 3/4's of a mile in a stand up or nearly rockin idle in a 1st gear spreader. i think 50s are a blast n ive done a 500ft or so seat stander right in front of a police cruiser and he didnt even give two *****. the big bike is a different story cops love the big bikes. ive learned hb and throttle control kinda decent on the 50 but i dont know if that'll transfer over to the big bike or not. we'll se next season when its a full stunter.

Re: Those who stunt 50's and big bikes...come inside...

Thanks guys, thats exactly what I was wondering. I still want to stunt on a big bike, but I think after reading this I'll stay with the 50 till I find a good cheap stunter local, no reason to kill my gsxr (she's been good to me).

I am about to go murder the 50 for a while

Re: Those who stunt 50's and big bikes...come inside...

I've gotta streetbike, strictly for riding and no funny business. Can't afford to fix my minty 600 double r.

& now for the 50...shiiit, thats another story, that beast will go down and down and still run like new. I've taken it out in the woods here lately with the knobby tires, making lil jumps around the fire, drinkin a lil, having a lil fun not enough to hurt someone though. As for riding on the street, i love killin the skreetz, its hella fun, glad i picked it up a couple weeks ago. I'll never get rid of it.

I love the 50, but damn it's kicked my ***. You def underestimate the little *******! I really feel like I've progressed a lot as far as brake control and throttle hand smoothness on it....
