Here is another one of mine.
1988 ZB50
Takegawa 124 +R motor
Daytona 4 speed and dry clutch.
PWK28 carb
NSR 50 wheels and forks
Ohlins shock
Brembo brake calipers with brakeing wave rotors
hand made carbon tail and nose cowls
Daytona guages
G_Craft swingarm, rearsets, kickstand, triples.

tons of other stuff as well. The bikes good for 80mph, and over 9k invested.
Im sure most of you have already seen this one. Sadly its hardly ever ridden these days. I mostly ride my APE.

Re: pics of the everyones 50s
Sold and parted out at this point.
Here is my most recent project.
My custom z50a.
This project has been long and slow for me but is finally off the ground so to speak and up and running. It started as a pile of spares and an idea to build a bike doing much more fabrication then buying off the shelve parts which has been more of my approach in the past on other builds. Most of the parts and steps in the process for it Have been discussed on other forums as its gone along over the past several years and i have documented much of the carbon fiber composite design and fabrication on my blog at honda50.com
If some of that info interests you please have a look at the projects section of the blog here.
Here are a few direct links on some of the project from the blog.
start of making the tank Dec 2007
part 2 of tank
part 3 of tank
CF fender design
More on Gas tanks
Making the front fender
Frame work, smoothing it out.
bar and throttle setup
The motor was pretty much built from spares I had in the garage. The cases were from a frozen ZB50 engine i picked up off ebay, only kept the stator fly wheel and cases. They were then bored to accept a 54mm cylinder jug, and i had the fly wheel shaved down at the same time. The head is from a Honda NICE 110 scooter and the cam is a Takegawa R20. Head work includes some porting and lightening of the rockers. I also installed a AB27 4 speed from a Honda monkey, and a Billet basket TB auto clutch. I decided to keep it semi auto as i really like the look of clean bars, no cables and the clutch lever would have killed that. The carb is a Yoshimura MJN TM24 with the doubble V-stack. As it is right now the motors a 95cc and i have ran it in another chassis i have and had it up to 65mph. more of a screamer then a low end punch it spins all day long at 12,000 rpm and ive seen the tach at 14,000 with it.
Some other things to note on the build the exhaust system also functions as the tail light, The internal throttle assembly is a aftermarket piece from the custom cruiser scene. ALso at this point there is still no front brake and the plans are either to do a double foot actuated lever for the right foot in carbon, a linked system or a carbon bar end style lever on the left bar with the cable in the bar.
Ive finally started making a push on this project so i could get it ridable for a event next month.
So in the last month I came up with my wiring diagram, made the harness from scratch, whipped up a quick key switch mount, completed the tank, made a CF box to hide all the electronics, and fixed a few issues with the headtube and front end.
So shes up and running, still lots to do with the finish work but its more a less a small milestone in the project. Here is a video from its first run up and down the hill. Still no battery hooked up at this point, just put a capacitor on there for now to get it going while i wait for the battery. Tanks working perfectly, just needs some finishing on all the CF and i have to get on to making the wheels.
