What gas are you running?

Just wanted to see what type of gas you guy's are running. I have some friends that strictly use VP race gas. The manual says 91 though. I don't see any reason to spend $4-5 on race gas if you are getting the same performance on 91...

i ride to shell and pump 87....... runs fine
Unless you have high compression or adavanced timing (thinking auto related) you shouldn't need high octane gas....

What manual are you looking at? Mine says 86 or higher. (03) Unless you're running higher compression or your motor is pinging, high octane gas is a waste of money, and you actually LOSE power. Been tested time and time again on the dyno.

i have 2002 and my manual says 91 octane or equivalent rating

so i run midgrade, sometimes it's 89, other times it 91...depends on what gas station.

I use what ever is the best at the gas station. And who ever said higher octane doesent run as good as low octane. Then why do all the high performance machines use high octane? It does make a difference y not fill the fiddy up with the best gas at the gas station.Keeps it cleaner and runs better the tank is so small any ways lol.

If you cant afford it then use what ever you can get as long as u can ride!
