wheelie distance
Re: wheelie distance
yea i just got my fiddy about 2 weeks ago, and ive rocked them for 50 ft or more a couple of times, but mostly around 10-20 on a normal base. Still learnin to get it back and using the brake to control them.
Re: wheelie distance
haha, I forgot about this thread. I can rock blocks and blocks and blocks now...
It just depends on how long/wide the stretch of road is (if I can turn around at the end and keep going).

Re: wheelie distance
Damn you guys are good. I only get about 10-20 ft so far.
But before the 50 I never stunted anything, pretty much why I bought it was to learn how to mess around and have fun with it with out worry of trashin my street bike.. Lot of damn fun but my right wrist hurts after a while and my arms get tired pretty quick.

Re: wheelie distance
DaM...I dont belive the people that say they can wheelie for 5 miles or until there gas runs out!!...I guess I gotta see it to belive it tho...I can get like a block but thaz it...
Re: wheelie distance
Nice.. I just had to nut up and go for it. I was freaked out by it before but its going ok. Taken a couple good spills but come out alright. Now im just trying to practice. I'm having a hard time controlling the brake with out stomping it and bringing it back down though. I'm figuring this must be the key to keepin it up, throttle control and working the break just enough to keep it..
I'm a n00b. But it's some fun ****! I tried 1st gearing it and that wasnt happening. Im working second at pretty slow speed but i'm not getting much distance. I'm working on it..

Re: wheelie distance
Well this sucks, I am not getting much distance at all. Been practicing every day. I can get it pulled up and I would say 4 out of 10 times I can get 10+ foot out if it and then it comes down.
what's my problem. Im leaning back, tugging on the bars and gassin it all at the same time it comes up nice and high but most of the time it goes right on back down?? startin to suck. I don't understand how you cats are hitting up blocks! A buddy of mine does the same thing he rides on one wheel as long as he wants but I can't. Any tips?? I got the stoppies down on lock though at slower speeds. I can't roll them at all however. This sucks I wanna wheelie for days..

grow a set of nuts and get the front end a little higher. Go out and bring it up till you loop it. Loop it once or twice and you'll know the limit real quick.

Re: wheelie distance
trust me if you saw my tail section you would see thats not the problem. I have looped it I can't even count how many times. I get it plenty far and I can ride em out sometimes but only for a few feet. Knowing how far to get the front up is not the problem.. I been learning to use the rear break to keep from looping it now, I am just having trouble getting much distance out of it.

Re: wheelie distance
Damn my hand hurts this morning. I was out practicing last night and I had a good one going and then it started to lean to the left sharply (I think I hit a small rock or something) I had to bring it down and the front came down pretty hard (been having them hit down hard in the front for some reason lately?) and kinda jacked up my left hand. Like the bone that my pinky is connected too in my palm feels bruised or something. Pretty damn sore this morning.
I been getting a bit better at distance the last couple nights though But I have a couple questions for you guys. When pulling wheelies, should I continue to be leaned far back in my posture while the bike is up? The last 2 nights when I been practicing I have been finding the balance point better and getting a few feet more in distance by leaning back, throttling it, pulling it up and then closing the gap between my chest and upper body and the bars. As in leaning back, pulling, then leaning my body back forward. The bike is staying upright longer and more balanced doing it this way then when I stay leaned back.. what is the best way or "proper" way to be doing them?
Thanks!

Re: wheelie distance
i'm starting to get the hang of them. a couple of weeks ago i was averaging only 10-15feet. i'm starting to get over the 30 foot mark. and i got the one handers down pretty good too. once i learned the BP it's been getting easier.
Re: wheelie distance
Its all about the practice. Im slowly getting the hang, of them I can get well over 100 yards now. The street tires really helped my side to side problem. Still learnin the break and throttle control thing though.

Tell that to the permanent scars all over my knees from when I was first learning.
