low speed wheelies...

got 2nd gear and balance point down on the a fiddy finally after a solid 2 days at it. been screwin around with sit down off idle low speed wheelies, and am having a problem with my side balance sometimes. i find that when i launch it up to BP off idle, and spread my knees wide, then adjust them by pullin one knee in to go the opposite way it helps a lil. is this the right way of balancin side2side? how are you guys rippin turns at BP and controlling side 2 side movement. any advice appreciated. thanks

btw its a bone stock '97 z50 with the fatty 8 inch rims/stock tires 10psi rear...

Re: low speed wheelies...

kinda askin 2 questions... how to keep side to side balance, and if i'm right by just usin my knees like i am when in a straight path. i know it defianately helps a lil. but also how to turn and keep from just falling into the circle. i can get 180deg, but then i just keel over like a dead dog. i get what your sayin about more throttle and rear brake when turning and using upper body more, i guess i just have to get more seat time...

and i know i type like a fuggin retard hahaha

Re: low speed wheelies...

I use my knees a little.... but slide my butt side to side on the seat (opposite the way you want to go) or just turn the wheel (unless doing circles) in the direction you want to straighten out to. a big part is also starting the wheelie straight from the beginning (2 nd gear has speed to help straighten you out if you dont come up perfect) make sure when you first pull it up you learn to pull evenly and start the wheelie as straight as possible, its a lot easier to keep it in line than get it there.

the *** slide works good for big corections for small ones try turning the bars, turn them slowly the way you want to go then slowly straighten them as you get in line. when you get it, it will be like second nature you won't have to think about it you'll just do it as needed inbetween some sick *** combos.....
