seat cover recommendation?

So i tried an ebay tall gripper seat for 30 bucks and it of course was pro garbage. I did decide I like the factory seat height better so now I'm just looking for a grippy cover for the factory foam. Seems that most shops carry different brands for around 50. Anyone got a recommendation? I'd prefer a.local shop brand unless there's something better out there.

Re: seat cover recommendation?

Ebay ones suck for seat standers. Only the squids like onewheelreg use them.

I figued Ide try it, and I liked it. I dont like the stock seat but I didnt think 80 for a tall was worth it at the time.

The ASV's are totally worth it...I used to break levers all the time but the ASV's are so strong I havnt broke one yet! And they feel good too.

Plastics arent so mint close up and the billets are functinal, I run em tubeless.

Re: seat cover recommendation?

onewheelreg - my ebay seat was stiff and fit well but the fabric was bogus it felt like vinyl. i could spin sit down circs for maybe 3 rotations before i slid off the ****. it was also more narrow on top versus a flatter stock seat so ss wheelies felt real sketch. barely room for both heels side by side. but you got faith in yours, maybe its a different brand? when i search for crf50 seat i get the same crap results i did 4 mos ago when i searched & bought. would ya help me out and maybe post a link or somethin? thanks

Re: seat cover recommendation?

Damn man your right I can't find the seat that I bought or the company that I got it from...Sorry man

I would keep your ebay seat and just buy a name brand cover and wrap the ebay seat with the new cover.

Re: seat cover recommendation?

whats your take on the advantage of tall seats? again, the grip on the only tall seat i had was shoddy. one handeds, circles, even straight line sit downs made it tuff to stay square, id slip too far off the seat or had to learn to pull myself back up. hated it. i bought it thinking it makes for a more comfy ride. skert on that idea.

i see no benefit other than it makes you look like your riding something other than a 50. thoughts????

Re: seat cover recommendation?

For me I like to ride higher up and it takes stress off my knees....Its all preference tho. You could buy a cover for a tall seat and if you dont like it on your tall seat take it off and put it on your stock seat.

Re: seat cover recommendation?

Those ebay gripper seats look nice but dont last long at all!

Once the fabric began to rip off the staples underneath started ripping through my jean, ginch, and scratching up my ***!!!!!

I went through 2 pairs of jeans and about 7 pairs of boxers have these damn holes in them now!

I just put my stock honda seat back on as it feels fine and has lasted several years with out any wear...

He got lucky with his. Way back like 2-3 years ago I bought a eBay seat and it was good quality and grippy, the foam is just now starting to get too soft. Recently I was building a 2nd bike and got the same seat that you're talking about and its the worst seat ever made, I slide off the back just doing regular wheelies, worst $30 ever spent.
