Comin back off the 12 bar when scraping.

Anyone else have trouble gettin off the bar back into a wheelie?
I'm 12'in it in first but I'm movin pretty well and scrapin prolly 3-5 feet, but can't get it to pop back off the bar onto the rear wheel. And I'm usin the foot and hand brake. Even when I grab the brake real hard and come off the gas at the beginning of the scrape. Any help? Is there something special I dunno cause I'm learning on my own?

ya come into in 2nd. youll never get off the bar in first. the faster you come onto the bar the longer you can scrape and still come off it.

For me in first gear...........when the bar hits i give more gas and ride it out, then hit the brake to bring it off back into a wheelie, if im lucky. most of the time i over brake and it comes down. oh and i mostly ride the brake all the time, just a little. thats just me ,though

Thanks, I'll hit'em up in 2nd and try. I'm gonna yank off my pads and hit them with some sanding paper. I dont have the best grip on the rear brake drums. I weigh 205 so yeah, when I hit the bar in first it grinds to a nasty halt with speed.

Re: Comin back off the 12 bar when scraping.

I'm 230lbs or so now and can drag the bar for a decent distance. I know in the top of 2nd I have dragged it for about 30-40 feet. Usually when I drag that far I crash though. Coming out of 12 is pretty easy once you have done it once. It is just a factor of timing hitting the rear brake and throwing your weight forward at the same time.

Yea pretty much what everyone else said...you gotta hit it in second. Bringing it back into a wheelie is all about timing it right, I'm still working on it.

Hmmm well I've put it down in second over and over. Both my feet have been crunched by the bike, both my elbows and tasty love handles are rashed as well.
Turns out my 12 bar is tweaked right edge down, so I get a gnarly spin when I touch down with speed. Anyone else have this problem with their ESD bars?
Think I'm gonna order me a burly freestyle ingenuity one instead.

Either bend your subframe until it is straight or buy a Turboglenn T-bar.

I've allways coasted into scrapes, scrape for however long you want to and all it takes is a little tap of the brake when you are scraping with the clutch in to pull it off the bar!! try some coaster practice and then you'll be touching them down nice and easy and riding out of them no problem
