New fiddy owner here got some questions
New fiddy owner here got some questions
Just picked up an 02 XR50 with
-BBR big bar kit, black triple
-50 stunt pegs
-Street tire on the rear
-Headlight kit
-Red Baron Graphics kit
-IMS Shifter
-Heavy Duty front and Rear springs
Have a few questions.
What type of oil do I put in the thing? Any real important maintenance issues need to be addressed? Is there service manuals out there somewhere (nudge nudge)? How the hell do you wheelie one of these? I thought there was a clutch for some reason so is it pretty much power wheelies with a little jerkin of the bars? Is it worthwhile getting the manual clutch kit?
I tried searchin but came up with a ton of irrelevant results so if anyone can help me out id appreciate it!!

Re: New fiddy owner here got some questions
manual clutch kits suck bro. what you could do is when you shift up in first hold the lever up so that its in nuetral then rev it up and let it go, pops right up. but yeah its pretty much power wheelies and playin with the rear brake.
Re: New fiddy owner here got some questions
hm i did staggered standups okay but sitdowns were hard as ****
guess i just need practice
how do people do highchairs, etc?
Re: New fiddy owner here got some questions
or get good on spreaders and just put your feet through the bars while it is already up.. that is the easy way to do them.. you dotn have to take off high chair and you dont have to lift your legs to get the thing up.
and i roll stock.. no big bore needed.
Re: New fiddy owner here got some questions
what do you guys have for gearing? and what about the maintenance stuff (i want to do an oil change ASAP)
think im gonna tear the thing apart and clean it too

Re: New fiddy owner here got some questions
i run a stage one 88 kit from tb. stock gearing. i love it. i can do all kinds of circle combos with the big bore cause it has the power to keep it up in fast or slow circles.

I run stock motor & stock gears. I use the Honda 10W-40 oil, same as the big bike.

Re: New fiddy owner here got some questions
Bring it back to my house, i'll show ya how to wheelie it.
As far as high chairs and ****, I could only do them by starting a regular seated wheelie, and then pulling my feet through. I could never lift it with my legs over at first.
Practice by draggin your feet at first. Thats the easiest way to do it, and you learn where the balance point kinda is at.
Re: New fiddy owner here got some questions
The oil is fresh in it. Err, it is atleast the last time i rode it, about a year ago.

we tried playing with the rear brake and DAMN that thing is touchy, we went over the bars a couple of times cuz the thing locked upa handbrake is probably the first thing im going to get and an extended foot brake
thanks for the tips guys
Re: New fiddy owner here got some questions
Thats how I learned I went out the first day and tryed to faulse neutral it and looped it and hurt my back pretty bad... then I learned about the dragging my feet and just bouncing it up and got to where i could ride it unlimited like that thru curves n all then i started picking my feet up and it's just going from there... dragging your feet can act like a rear brake if you start getting past the BP just drag your feet a lil and it'll come right back... takes a few times to learn how much pressure but it's pretty simple... rear pegs same thing... left foot on the pegs and drag your right foot behind you and you're set... but year rear hand brake I'm learning is a must the foot brake is way to touchy for me...
