rear shock and extra parts

The rear shock on my 04 is shot. Should I get another stock honda shock and upgrade the spring or just get an upgraded spring and put it on the shock I have. also if anyone has an parts they wanna get rid of let me know. I am interested in a 12 bar or I am going to make a round bar for it. I also need a rear swingarm, I dont care if it is stock, I just want one in good shape because mine is already welded. I also am wondering about puting on a hand brake and wondering if anyone has done this and what they used. I figure I should be able to rig something up from another bike.

I have the Tbar now but I am going to switch to a round bar next year. I don't want it on there for hitting it, I just want it on there to save the fender in wrecks. I love my 12 bar but it is really hurting me (shins) more than it is doing me good.

Re: rear shock and extra parts

ive gotten used to it on there and i can dodge it pretty well. im pretty smooth with my scrapes id make a round bar for mine but taking off my tbar is a pain cause my u bolts are the wrong size. and it hits evenly so i dont want to take it off and screw that up

Here is a link for a good handbrake for under $50

As for the rear shock you could just upgrade the spring, but iShock is what alot of people upgrade too. I'm getting one soon cause there supposed to be the best.
50Stunt.com sells alot of stuff for the 50's. They are an amazing store and have only high quality stuff. As for the 12 bars- watch out for the homemade ones cause alot of them damage your subframe. The 50stunt one is very nice and suports your subframe it goes for like $150. If you want a cheaper one thats still good Turboglenn from fiddylife.com custom makes them & his are also amazing quality too. He sells them for $70 or $80 for the extra strong ones. He also gaurente's them for life too.
Also do you stunt this bike? Do you have or plan on getting rear stunt pegs for your bike? If so than the 50 stunt ones wont bolt to alot of aftermarket swingarms.
Good luck finding what your looking for

Re: rear shock and extra parts

i am going to stunt it and thats why I am just going to stick with the stock rear swingarm adn put pegs on it...I see alot of people have the aftermarket rear brake foot lever, does it make a big difference?

Re: rear shock and extra parts

I think the aftermarket foot brake levers are just more comfortible for adult riders w/ larger feat. The stock lever is alot shorter than bigger bikes because the 50 was designed for a little kid. You don't really need one but if you have larger feet it would be nice.
