z50 question....

Well my buddy's wanting to sell is sons z50. Its a 98, just needs a gas tank. (has a hole in it).....all he's wanting is $150.....should i go for it? Is there as many accessories out there for them as there are the xr/crf50?

not as mant chassis upgrades but im sure you can find something. theyve got 8 inch wheels so tire selection sucks. but the motor is classic honda and you can get big bores and whatnot for it.

id buy it

the little balloon tires arent that bad if you pump 'em up a little bit, but you can find all kinds of wheels and tires on ebay.. from new take off's to custom stuff

Will the xr/crf wheels bolt on or what? It needs a back tire pretty bad anyway. Im parts managaer at a honda/yamaha/suzuki/kawasaki/ktm/polaris dealer......maybe ill just look through the aftermarket and see what they offer

there is more **** available for the 50 than you can even imagine...

you can spend anywhere from 150 to 1500 bucks big-boring it and there are complete rolling chassis on ebay all day long

Yea i was lookin through the Tucker Rocky book, and they have a whole section on nothing but pit bike accessories. Will the handle bar clamps for the crf/xr the same for the z50 to put mx bars on it?

yep.. i bought the whole red baron kit for like 160 bucks at cycle gear.. billet top clamp, bars, twist throttle, front brake cable, throttle cable with carb top, new front brake lever, kill switch.

i used to have one a long time ago with a ct70 4 speed engine in it.. i was just a kid and my uncle built it for me.. chrome gas tank and all.. bad ***

i dont know about the crf rims swapping over. if it was that easy you would think a lot of z50 owners would have done it. ive never even seen that before

I did it for my friend but to do the front you need to get a XR/CRF forks aswell.....Great mod of the Z thou
