Re: Need help for designing and fabbing fabing up hand brake

Ive done it before. Just get a cable, long bolt(same size as thread on existing rear brake) drill whole through top of bolt so you can solder it to the cable, take a clutch perch(w/o lever and attach it to the swing arm to guide the cable to brake drum, and buy a full clutch perch and put it on the handlebars.... looks ghetto but does the job.... easiest way is to buy the 50stunt cable though then do the ghetto way..

Well thats what Im trying to decide on, what bore kit I should put on it....My friend has a stock bored stunt 50 with a manul clutch and Its nice, but I like doing circles on my other friends Z50 with a TB 88cc w/race head much better. On the 88cc Z I like how you can gas gas gas them around go fast and wide and not have to be soo smooth and high like the stock 50.....But his TB 88cc runs perfect! I want something with the same power and I want it to run perfect like his. Also the 88cc makes for way better stoppies and coaters, I also built a 124SE for the friend and its sick for 100km/h coasters and 100ft+ stoppies but has way too much torque for wheelies even with 16/30 gearing!...What do you think is the best bore kit for stunting?

I bought my 50 for stunting and actually learned the rear brake on it before I bought my big stunt bike. The in the winter I went nuts and turned it into this.... Name: DSC01298.jpg

Becasue I built this I am missing alot of parts needed to build up my stocker again, and Im starting to really miss haveing my own stunt 50.....I just spent like $200 buying all the OEM nuts and bolts I need, had cases but I needed a complete tranny. Instead of wasting money on a donor motor just for the tranny I bought a complete Takegawa 5plate clutch with 5speed tranny....That way I can swap tannys and my motad will have a 5speed and the stunter gets a 5 plate clutch with close ratio 3 speed:YEAH

Besides that I plan on using the same Reeg rear hydraulic disc brake kit I have on my motard, and Im making an adaptor for the rear master and I bought this master and line for the HB...The cable 50 stunt HB is alot of fun but we have like 3 of them and some work better then others and some dont really work at all. We tried changing hubs brake pads everything, and they always seem to get weak after time

I am also working on putting this caliper, master, braided line and killer rotor on my motard.....The thing is already a stoppie machine but I just had to have this setup when I saw it at the shop...

I'll post some pics as my project starts comming together

Re: Need help for designing and fabbing fabing up hand brake

this is how i did my zb

build a cable,, use a clutch cable adjuster and fab up a spot for the cable to mount to. weld a tab on the swingarm with a hole and slot for the cable to mount to.

this set up works great if the dam cable would stop slipping out of the farel ill get that fixed tonight

Re: Need help for designing and fabbing fabing up hand brake

hydraulic brakes on a 50 (rear) is just too much braking power... ppl have been rocking drum brakes for a long time, and they work just fine... extended brake arms if you need more leverage/power out of them
