street tires

Are street tires any good at all in the dirt or on grass? I like the idea of street tires since I spend most of my time in NYC, but on my days off I go upstate and rip up my parent's and friend's lawns. What do you think?

I also like that you can get wider street tires than you can dirt.

Street tires are good to have. esp if you stuning on roads. Mine go through the dirt and grass fin. www.americanmototire.com Check out the scooter tires for your 50. It says tubeless but they'll fit and you still use tubes. The tires are only $10

Re: street tires

I have a dirt on the front and street on the rear. It helps the tire from washing out in grass/dirt but doesn't make a difference on the street cause it's always floating.

Re: street tires

we have really sandy trails where i live and my rear street tire gets me around good enough to keep up with everyone, but it does get squirrely in the turns ... however liek teh two above posts it makes a world of difference if you can at least keep a dirt tire on the front, becasue when the front washes out you go downa lot faster
