just got a 50

hey i just bought a 50 its an 03 stock engine stiff springs bars but it has one peg on the left and i was wondering why not 2 ive tried wheelying with it but it leans to the left i cant get the hang of it so is it worth it to buy 2 i was thinking off of 50stunt.com and possibly the rear hand brake i cant seem to use the stock one all too well when wheelying i have big feet
i wanted a little more power not like a big bore kit
i was thinking air filter and maybe exhaust tip i was wondering if anyone know if exhaust tips really added any power worth the money
does anyone have used exhaust they are interested in selling
im looking to buy a kill switch too if anyone knows where to buy just the kill switch by itself
and i was thinking a tall seat anyone know if that makes a difference with wheelies any help would be appreciated thank you

Re: just got a 50

I love doing stand ups on the rear stunt pegs, so I would say yes, get a set from 50stunt. Handbrakes are great too, but learn the footbrake, it's important. Staggered standups (left foot on the stunt peg, right foot on the rider peg) are tough at first, but you will get used to the side to side balance and then they're easy and feel comfortable, and you can use the footbrake. One thing that helps with staggared standups is to push on the right footpeg with your foot to help you from putting too much weight on your left leg and going to the left.

Nothing you do is going to add much power at all besides a big bore kit. I would highly recommend a trailbikes lite bore 88 kit from fiddyboyz.com for $140. Great investment. I would also do the high volume oil pump ($25) at the same time and a 15 tooth front sprocket ($15). An aftermarket exhaust or tip isn't going to do anything on a stock motor.

I've had a stage 2 big bore kit (with race cam and bigger carb) and that's a little twitchy but still works well for stunting with the right sprocket setup. The light bore 88 kit that uses the stock cam and carb is very smooth (that's what I have now). Trust me, the 88 light bore kit doesn't have too much power and it's way better than the weak *** stock motor. I actually think the light bore 88 kit is easier to stunt than the stock motor and you don't have to pull like crazy to get the front wheel off the ground.

Also for balancing wheelies side to side try letting some air out of the rear tire, I go with about 20 pounds. Also street tires help and the faster you are going the easier it will be to balance side to side at first.

I run the stock rear sprocket (37 tooth) and a plus 1 (15 tooth) sprocket in the front. I like that setup for stunting. For more top end speed and less torque you could go with 15-34, but I would recommend the stock rear sprocket with a 15 tooth front. I also have a high volume oil pump with my 88 kit. Get the Trailbikes light bore 88 kit from "Fab5fiddy" at Fiddyboyz.com, he has great prices and awesome technical support if you have any problems. You can also get the sprocket and oil pump from him.

The best sprocket setup with the 88 light kit in my opinion is keeping the stock rear sprocket (37 tooth) and buying a 15 tooth front sprocket.

You can use a stock front sprocket (14 tooth) and use a 34 tooth rear sprocket, That's the same gear ratio as 15-37. But the rear sprocket is much more expensive and you may have to get a shorter chain with that setup. If you just get a 15 tooth front sprocket ($15) with the 88 light bore kit it will be perfect for stunting. If you decide you want more top end and less torque you can always add a 34 tooth rear sprocket later.

My crew stunts in Northern New Jersey sometimes on the weekends. We have a great spot. It looks like it's about two hours from you. If you feel like making the drive to stunt with us sometime just let me know.

Aftermarket fork springs will jack up the front of the bike by an inch. It's hard to explain but look to see how much room is between your front fender and tire, or a better way is to see how much room is between the top of the plastic fork guard and the rubber boot on the fork, then compare it to a picture of a stock bike. You should be able to tell if yours sits up higher than stock. Generally speaking if it has aftermarket springs the very top of the stock plastic fork guard should be just about even with the top of the rubber fork boot. If the top of the plastic fork guard sits about an inch higher than the top of the rubber fork boot then the springs are stock. Hope that isn't too confusing.
