Lookin to buy a 50. Should I go CRF or XR??

So I've been ridin my boy Bmore John's 50 the other day and I'm hooked already. I've seen some Honda XR 50's and CRF 50's. I think the main difference is the XR has a 5 speed manual tranny and the CRF has a 3 speed auto. Any other differences, and which is better for what?

I never said I was riding a 5 spd XR50. I said I was ridin my boy John's 50. It's a CRF. I got the idea that the XR 50 was a 5 speed from http://www.bikez.com/bike/index.php?bike=20268. So if it's bad info sue me. So sorry I asked a question I didn't know the answer too. Jesus, way to try and shoot down a newbie for tryin to get some info.

Anyway, its like the same exact bike, except the CRF has cooler looking plastics and graphics IMO... it looks more like a MX bike then the XR.

Sorry CrazyD and acanz, my ******* comment was sent at randomjibrish. Ask a simple question with some info from a retarded site you though was credible and get flamed. I was wondering why a bike with 50cc's would need a 5spd, but that's why I asked what's goin on. I appreciate the info from you two looks like I'm goin to the Honda Dealer to get me a CRF.

Re: Lookin to buy a 50. Should I go CRF or XR??

Whatever Louisville, let me slow it down for you, see if that helps. I knew the CRF was a three speed I rode it for an hour and never took it outta 1st and 2nd. I've never ridden a XR... never.. ever. So I researched it and got some bull info. Didn't think it made sense so I asked and the Barbeque began.

Re: Lookin to buy a 50. Should I go CRF or XR??

dont get pissed, i was asking you a relevant question. looked more like you were stating a fact about them, and asking if there was any more difference to me..... good try @ covering up though lmmfao, i feel ya!
i hear the XR's are faster (i have a xr and a crf... the xr is faster in my case, and stock... my crf has a few mods, but stock motor, and gets smoked) i like the xr plastics better cause the back/side # plates are all 1 piece, and the crf's are 3 pieces, and the side # plate tabs get broken easy, but do look a lil better than the xr. lil advice, BUY USED, and preferabally allready modded, cause you spend a fortune getting rid of the stock junk to make them rideable (big bar kit, rear shock, front forks ect) i got about $1300 in mine and only paid $600 for it if that tells you anything, and all my parts (90%) are used

It's all good Louisville, it takes more than what someone says in an internet forum to get me hot. I see your point, but I did say I THINK, meaning I don't know. Thanks for the info, I'm looking to buy used but man is i hard to wait for the right one to come buy at the right price. These fools in the paper want 1100 for the stock 03 fifty that their kid grew out of. I'm looking for a deal like you got. Something like 600-800 for a used one in decent shape.

Yeah I was lookin but I'm not trying to drive to KY and I'm of the same opinion you are, 50's are more fun. Nice bike for the price though.

I heard there is a place in Milwaukee , WI that sells new 2006 crf's for $669 and no freight charge . (not including tax) .

The place is called "Don and Roys" and it is on Bluemound avenue .

I don't know if it is true though
