Hey Fellas,

I am trying to redo an xr50 which was abused...big surprise right?

Anyway, after pulling the bike apart to replace the stock bent frame, I noticed that the topright hand side of the engine case is cracked where the bolt goes through to hold the engine into the frame. Somebody was booming this thing and landing hard....engine still runs and seems to run decent...

My question is...would I be better to replace the case half or just take it to somebody who can tig and let them weld each side of the bolt stay back down...?


I know without seeing it, it's hard to say...will try to take a pic and post if it helps.

i would try to get it welded up and see how it holds...

 

You can get cases from dratv.com for 80 both sides

Hey Robbie...I haven't bought the new cases yet. It seems like a pretty invasive procedure and I was holding off...after I get the cases, I'll be glad to sell you the undamaged one.

i Have a aftermarket bottom end with the 4 speed trans and the clutch if that would work for you
