which is easier to learn to wheelie? xr50 or 70?
Hey guys, I am wanting to learn to wheelie. I am new to motorycles pretty much. I am going to get the honda 50 or 70 tomorrow!!! Which is easier to learn to balance wheelie? Thanks. I am getting all of my friends to buy them too. Even though most of them are married with kids!!!

There both about the same to stunt
Personally I think the 70 feels a little weak, since its a bigger bike you'd expect more power, but it barley has more power then a 50.. So it seems kind of weak
The 50 has a MUCH bigger aftermarket accesory world...
They both use pretty much the same engine, I think hte bottom end is the same.. 3 speed no clutch, you can get a 88cc, 95cc, 108cc, or 117cc kits for either motor.
Depending on your size, would depend on what bike i'd recommend... Im 5'11" 145lbs and I can stunt a crf50 all day.. Its a lil small, but it aint too bad..
But if your much over 6 foot, i'd say just got with a 70.. Or maybe look at crf100's
Crf100 is just slightly slower then my 88cc stage 3 big bored crf50 with a 4 speed tranny..
crf100 is a lil harder to stunt, but once you learn how, it makes transfering the stunts to a big bike easier... I wish I had one to stunt on daily before I brought it to the f4i..

Well, i think i am going to go with the 70, 80 or 100. Whichever I can get a better deal on. I am 6'-2" and 220lbs. The 50 is way small for me. My size sucks for mini-stunting.

Get the 50... Ur gonna hate the 70.. The wheelbase is too long for such little motor.. The 50 will haul u around.. Im 6'3 235 and my 50 is straight... Im tellin you now bro go with the 50 and get big bars and street tires.. I have both 50 and 70. Nobody rides the 70.

sounds like i am getting completely different opinions. i think i will get the 70 and 50 and ride the one i like better and let my girlfriend ride the other. she doesn't want to do any stunts so she doesnt care.

I'd say either way you go, plan on getting a big bore kit..
50's and 70's are weak.. They ****.. Sure there fun, and you CAN stunt them... But once you ride a big bored 50 or 70, you'l hate stock!
At least thats how me and all my friends feel.. Everoyn says the same thing about stock "its plenty to stunt, it has plenty of power" then they get a big bore and say "this is what i'v been missing"
With that in mind, ya the 70 might be too long of a wheel base for the power, but with upgrades, it's fine...
I'd say look into a 70 or 100 personally, then again with me saying all that, I still own a 50....
edit: Anyone "can" ride a 50.. Its just a matter of comfort.. And frankly my *** is NOT as comfortable on my 50 as I am on a 100.. Theres just no way to say im comfortable when Im basically in a squating posisiton the entire time I ride..
Then again it dosen't bother me that much, and I ride pretty much everyday.
Its really fun going out to the woods, and passing 125's and **** on my 50
re-edit: another thing to consider, is the fact that bigger wheels, mean more stable ride... So if you plan on hitting the trails, a 50 topping out full speed is VERY uncontrolable.. Its bouncing all over the trails, and feels very "shitty" whereas the 70 and 100 have bigger wheels, so they feel a LOT more stable in the woods...
But for streets the 50 has plenty big wheels..

thanks for all of the help. i think the 70 with a big bore kit is what i need. i am going to get a 50 too just because I can pick up a clean used one around here for around 700.
Re: which is easier to learn to wheelie? xr50 or 70?
I started trying to wheelie my xt225 a couple of days ago. I couldn't wait to get a mini. I just got too high and stepped off the bike not one hour ago. I scraped up my palms. The damage to the bike is very minimal, just ruined the peg and put some very minor scratches on a few things. Not too bad for my first stunting accident. I am going to fix that peg and try again. It happened so quick, I was on my *** before I knew what happed. I had been getting them up to the balance point and rocking up and down for about 50 feet. I just went too far. In reality, i could have held on to it but i didn't.

Unless me or moorport are gods, the 70 is SUCH a better bike. Even my friend who rides a fiddy likes it better, but doesn't want to get one cause it 'wont be a fiddy anymore.'
I rock it 100% stock too. Moorport is way better then me, but honestly if you give it time it's so much better. I say this cause you dont have to do ANYTHING to make it better, whereas the fiddy you need at least a bar kit and more motor. The only thing I'm gunna order is stiffer springs cause I'm kinda getting into MX with it now..
