50cc/88cc/100+ which is the ideal

I sold some stuff on ebay and now I am looking to pimp my CRF 50, my question is how important it is to upgrade the motor and why? I use the bike mostly for stunt, so what do I do, keep engine stock or upgrade it? and if upgrade to what?

thanks for the info

72cc motor and manual clutch. You can clutch up wheelies with the clutch and the 72 is smooth, but still has more engine brake.

I'm going to clean my garage Thursday night/ friday morning, then finish up the fiddy. Everything is together, just need to drop in the manual clutch and slap on the chain.

Re: 50cc/88cc/100+ which is the ideal

personally i like the 88 stock head for stunting... i currently have a race head 88 and it's a bit agressive on power deliver for kickin smooth combos, but i'd say buy TB parts and go with a stage II 88 kit... best upgrade IMO that i ever made

Question Re: 50cc/88cc/100+ which is the ideal

Smoother like how

I thought if you got a bore kit it would make more power and make the throttle more touchy and harder to control .

Or are you using more brake to control it during a wheelie ?

Or do you gotta gear it after the bore kit is installed to be smooth ?

Re: 50cc/88cc/100+ which is the ideal

alot of people run 88s, personally i thing stock is the best way to go i run a stock motor and intake and alien exhaust. i traded my 88 motor for a stock motor and 200 bucks. Worth it to me, 88 made highchairs and everything easy, but i dont like crashing 3rd gear wheelies at those speeds . i got scars from my 88 looping is so easy. Once you get comfortable on a stock motor everything is easy. highchairs and everything else can be done on a stock 50 with practice. 88s and 108s are only needed for riding dirt imo. I can leave other bikes in the dust on my 88, alot of fun for riding track or trails.

Re: 50cc/88cc/100+ which is the ideal

oh i can do every thing but highchair Os with my stock 50 motor but my buddys 88 makes combo Os so much easier and yes you do have to ride the brake more but it makes it so much easier to prull combos like podium Os then drop down to special k Os or merk step to spreader it makes tricks that on a stock 50 a lil difficult on a stock 50 effortless on the 88 and it makes endos nice too cause you can pick up speed so much faster but to each thier own

I ve rode lots of different big bores and a 72 with stock head and carb is the best for stunting,if you like riding in dirt alot I would get an 88

Re: 50cc/88cc/100+ which is the ideal

well i do a little of both, some dirt and some street stunt, i was looking at kitaco's big bore kit, its 75cc's (stamped as 49cc...haha) its 160.00, looks like it includes everything. would this be a good kit? i dont want to have to deal with oil coolers or any mess, i just want to beef up what i have really...what do you all suggest?

I have an 81 cc takagawa with a tb race cam and crf70 carb... its great for stunting and blowas away my buddies 107 china knockoff.... its a good balance, HC's are a ton easier on it.... I had to put in a heavyt duty clutch and springs the stocker started slipping as soon as I put the kit on..
