need help with my 50

i just bought the big spring kit. it didnt come with directions and my unpatient a$$ just started trying to figure it out. in the process i chewed up the piston on the top of the rear shock. can this be fixed by smoothing it out with sand paper, or do i have to buy another stock shock? im scared to mess with the front forks now. i dont want to jack them up too! any words of wisdom?

thanks

Should have asked first, bro, a little bit of heat would have helped immensely. It's okay, you can probably smooth it with some sandpaper, I did that with a buddy's. Just make sure there's no burs, or if it's too far down the shaft it might funk up the seal, and you should just get a new shock. The fronts are easy, just use a soft jawed vice, and twist them fuggers on there.

You can punch them out with a small screwdriver and a hammer. Be careful, because they will only go one way. If you tap on it a couple of times and it does not move, flip it over and hit it the other way. It should slide out easily. Also, when you reassemble it you need to make sure to push that pin in more than flush. If it is just barely sticking out it will rub inside the fork uppers and not allow it to move freely. I hope that is not to confusing, I began to ramble a bit.

Do yourself a favor and go buy a set of roll pin punches. Makes the job of getting the roll pins out much easier and cleaner.

ok im sure alot of you have done this to your fiddys but how do you fix it? the front wheel is cocked to the side where it almost rubs against the one side of the fork. nothing is wobbling or anything. it spinns strait, just crooked inside the forks.
