How wide tires can you fit on an XR50?
I'm going to convert mine to a SuperMotard, so I'm going to need street tires. I have a pretty good idea on what tire to use but I'm uncertain of the suitable dimensions..
Any ideas?
Would 3.5 front and 4.3 rear be to wide for instance? It seems hard to find a tire that is thinner then 3.5 inches...

Guess SuperMotard is'nt that big in the States, eh?
It's basically a cross bike that you fit with race/street tires and bigger brakes, just to name a few details. They race them on a track that both contains gravel with small jumps and asphalt...
Here's a few pics of the technique they use to negotiate turns:

Thanks, but I need to know how wide will fit. Since I don't want just any tire, I have a few and proud in mind and they don't come in all sizes.

my buddy is running a michelin S1, 3" size. It is a tight fit to say the least. there is not much room up front nor in the rear for more tire. the fit is so close that i could not even say all 3" tires will fit as there are some variations between manufactures...
i am running 2.75" hoops. i have plently of space...
and i'll add, supermotards rule! my friend and i will have our 50's up at cuddybackville.... supermoto is popular in the states, you just gotta find the right people

WHAT IS MOTARD? I can't believe not knowing what that is.
those pics up above are badd azz i myself turned my XR650R into a motard and its the only one ive seen on the road around here it my not have much for top speed (100-110 for a short distance) but it will cruise nicely around 70-80. I;m still learning to wheelie mine i personally find it alot funner than my R1
here is a link to a bike that looks similar to mine and this one is a race bike
