What is the stock jet size on a XR50R? I see most guys are

going to a size #60 & #62. Just wanted to know so when I go to

the dealer I know what I'm talkin' about .

Think it's a 58. Replaced mine with a 61 and can't find the stocker to to tell ya for sure.

so are you guys running with the needle clip at the bottom and a bigger main jet? i am putting a FMF pipe and UNI pod filter and want my 50 to run right...so bigger main jet and all the down on the clip is the way to go?

 

I just changed my main jet to a #60 and moved the needle back to the middle clip and it seems to run much crisper. Play with it and take some plug readings along the way to see which way you are heading.

 

How do you take a plug a reading? what tool do you use, what should it measure it at, in other words where should it read,

I did the same thing, big difference in how much more power it gave it down low.

when i just did the needle & the air filter - i had it bog down low no matter how i adjusted the needle & the air screw. now its perfect & pulls 3rd up no problem.

 

Just start with a good clean plug and check it after you ride the bike . It should not be white ( lean) or black ( rich). It should be a nice tan / brown color. Keep making adjustments till the bike runs like a raped ape and the plug looks right .
