50s, If I have to explain.....

Is it me or do some big bike riders just don't get the whole fiddy thing.

I swear all my big bike rider friends just don't seem to get how people can be so into 50s. I think it's either one of those things you "get" or you "don't".

I have 5 bikes, 2 big ones, 1 mid size one and 1 50. My ducati is full of dust, and my R6 is probably on ebay by now (some one is fixing it up for me for the last 3 months) and my YSR hasn't run in a year. I ride my 50s everyday. :YEAH

I'm so excited about version 3.0 of my bikes. SiK50's just hooked me up AGAIN with a 88 kit on the motard one, and a 75 on the stunt one. All new Skull pegs and cam covers and a custom made dual hand/brake lever.

Yep a lot of the guys I know think its a joke ... until I tell them to let me see them wheelie it - and they make up some lame *** excuse as to why they just flipped or can't even keep the wheel up This ***** addicting like crack :YEAH

i'm in the same boat. my friends think 50's are cool and all but don't really show any interest in them. i have an f4 that i ride once a week, my YSR and ST90 i haven't riden in so long that the tags expired and i didn't care enought to renew them......but i now have 2 50's that i ride any chance i get.........even before work at 7:45am while my car is warming up.

Re: 50s, If I have to explain.....

i used to make fun of my buddies that rode them. Always at a party there would end up being a 50 running around. I always hopped on one and stunted it until my *** or arms were tired. All my friends said i should get one, and i laughed and said why i can always just ride yours, plus they are just toys anyways.

So after a while i ended up getting one because i was sick of waiting my turn to ride other peoples 50s.

Its been a huge addiction for me. i now have a 50 for pretty much every situation. i have almost 14K invested in them. its really ridiculous if you think about it.

Hell I even started a 50 crew with some friends so we could have a name for ourselves in a X Factor video, and now im working on our own DVD. I love these little bikes so much I drove 30 hours all the way to Texas just so I could hang out with other guys from all around the country that love them like I do.

I have a 03 GSXR 1k that i haven’t ridden in over a month, and a 97 GSXR 750 that im sure the battery is dead on.

I eat sleep drink and **** 50s all day and night long. Funny how things change

Re: 50s, If I have to explain.....

hell yeah. Sometimes when im out riding i find myself spending more time and energy on it. I love love it and can't get off of it. At least my teamates respect the 50. But when im out riding by my house everyone points and laughs like im some clown. I go to the gas station with my trailer and they;re like that's yours? It's funny untill they see me rock it.

Re: 50s, If I have to explain.....

OK so one day I got this idea...
I like riding my fiddy in the dirt and I want to be better at it so I'll call one of the local MX coaches. Wrong idea, by the time I got off the phone with this guy I was . He just didn't get it! He told me to call him back when I got a real bike. I figure he must not be a real teacher.

Ok so I call another guy. Told him about my situation he said come on over I've got a 110 you can use.
(I will take him up on that offer , he has a great track in his back yard that I have been dying to tear up :YEAH )

I love the fact that I can drop the thing all day and not worry about ruining $1k in plastics. That and it fits in the back of my blazer so I can take everywhere.

Re: 50s, If I have to explain.....

g/f - doesn't get it, thinks it's silly.
Parents - think it's funny and love when i bring it home so the neices and nephews can ride it
work - also think it's funny but they seem to talk about it alot, and i took it to the company picknic, almost everyone, including the owners (husband and wife) rode it.
friends - most either have one or ride each others, one even talked his g/f into buying one.
most other people don't get it.

who cares it's fun

Re: 50s, If I have to explain.....

About driving across the country to ride a kids bike? I am just glad that there are like minded people out there that understand my problem.

friggin rock. :YEAH

I will admit that sometimes I feel really stupid for blowing off my family for two weekends in a row to ride a minibike. Just something I need to deal with I guess. It does keep me sane. :YEAH

This is good to hear. I'm 44 years old and I have four fiddys. The neighbors either think i'm a little off or they just don't talk to me. I thought it was just me, now if I could only get my Wife to understand.

Re: 50s, If I have to explain.....

i use to be hardcore into 50s. i learned how to wheelie on one. then i got a street bike and they didnt seem as exciting anymore. to me it is the lack of fear factor. i want to be doing something that i think is about to kill me. but i still have two 50s.
